What To Expect
Starrigavan Recreation Area
Starrigavan Recreation Area, just north of Sitka, Alaska, is a nature lover's paradise. Here you'll find a beautiful estuary teeming with birdlife, perfect for observing on the quarter-mile boardwalk trail. We can hop on the Forest to Muskeg trail for a short hike through spruce-hemlock forest and muskeg on various trails, keeping an eye out for resident brown bears, eagles, and deer.
Fortress of the Bear
The drive to Fortress of the Bear is a scenic adventure! Trade charming downtown for breathtaking Alaskan scenery - mountains, wildlife, and a glimpse of the local ecosystem! Keep your eyes peeled. Once we arrive, learn about rescued brown and black bears. A must-see stop!

5.00Our guide was awesome! Gary knew so much about Alaska and shared his knowledge with us about the history of the area, the wildlife. He was so personable! One of the best tours we have ever booked! Would recommend this tour, especially for adults who want to see the "real" Alaska!!!

5.00Mike was our guide. He was great! We got back from our prior tour late. Mike waited for us and then let us make a quick stop for dumplings. He took us to the places we wanted to see: Castle Hill, Fortress of the Bear, National Cemetery, Harbor, Totem Square, and other sites. We saw things we wouldn’t have gotten to see if we had just been walking. We highly recommend this tour!

5.00The tour with Gary was like hanging out with your uncle. He was so good with our daughter. He took us to all the highlights of Sitka, fortress of the bears, the raptor center, the totem poles and all the wonderful scenery in between!
15 miles of highway in Sitka! 2 traffic lights! Hundreds of eagles!
