Have you ever wandered through a huge museum wondering what you should be seeing, or perhaps feeling like you're missing out on something? Do you want to make the Bible come alive in a life-changing way?
In this semi-private guided tour, you'll stand in front of world famous paintings while discussing the Bible.
You will get to connect Bible passages to the paintings, then place it in a timeline so that you will understand the Bible like never before. Bible verses will no longer just be words on the page when you see a master artist bring the passage to life. As you place each event on the timeline, you will understand how they relate to each other in history.
Experience famous artwork by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt and Caravaggio in person rather than on a screen. The time range for most of the paintings is from the 1500s to the 1800s.
The emphasis of the tour is more on the Bible story than artistic techniques though the technical side will be mentioned from time to time.

The National Gallery
We’ll wind our way through the various galleries and see the familiar world of Jesus including scenes of his birth, miracles, death and resurrection. There are numerous paintings of the Israelites from Joseph to Moses to David. We'll also see depictions of legends attributed to various Biblical people, and discuss scenes from the apocryphal writings. The apocrypha are stories that are part of some Bibles but excluded from other Bibles. All paintings are “representational art”; that is, the subjects are clearly identifiable with minimal guessing as to who is being depicted. You’ll come face to face with great artwork that is hundreds of years old and you’ll understand your Bible like never before. As time permits and interest dictates, we can also view famous Greek myths, well-known historical events and works by familiar artists such as Van Gogh, Monet and Michelangelo. Please note that paintings move around the museum and are taken off display on a regular basis.

This was, without a doubt, one of the best and most insightful tours I have ever been on. David was exceptional. His deep knowledge of the Bible and ancient history transformed the experience from a simple museum trip into a fascinating insightful and faithful journey. He didn't just show the artefacts from Assyria, Babylon, and Persia, but also linking it to historical and biblical verses, making centuries-old stories feel immediate and real. He did bring the Bible to live, and it provided a profound context that I would have completely missed on my own. 10 out of 10!!!

We enjoyed our tour of the National Gallery with David. He led us to key pieces of art and helped us appreciate them in new ways by explaining symbolism, use of color, and attention to detail in the pieces. We viewed the art with deeper understanding of the artists’ intentions than if we had just observed the art by ourselves. In addition, he related the art to Scripture and church history which was invaluable in helping us better appreciate the art.

As a guide, David is very generous with his time and he shares his passion for Biblically inspired art. David shared a primer on the chronological timeline of Bible history that was very helpful. You will also receive some basic insight into art painting conventions that was much needed by this novice. There is also an opportunity to view some Greek mythology and Roman history in paintings along the way. I recommend this excursion for so many reasons!

This was truly an amazing, exhilarating and educational tour. David was attentive, full of knowledge, funny, and very professional. He actively involved me in the tour listened and I could’ve stayed there the whole week listening to him. David explained things about the art and searching the Scriptures to back it up. I just want to thank David for a truly wonderful afternoon at the National Gallery. When I return to London, I will be doing his other tour.

It was just my husband and myself. David was very nice and knowledgeable. I thought there would be others on the tour but there were not. Also, I thought the tour was only 2 hours and that was not what David had planned. It would have been ok to be longer but my husband was not feeling well so going longer was not really an option for us. Just make sure that your expectations and David's are the same. Otherwise a nice tour.

David's knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject was infectious. He has a genuine love for art and the Bible and I learnt so much. His method of asking questions and encouraging me to discover features in each work of art was particularly engaging. He was always happy to discuss ideas and it was clear, although an expert in his field, he relishes fresh ideas and perspectives. I would (and already have!) recommend his tours to anyone.

My wife & I did 2 tours of British Museum, & we were not disappointed. Edification, education, making Scripture alive is what David's tour is about! Verses that we've read 100's of times before suddenly came alive when we saw an artefact related to that verse, deepening our knowledge! He answered all our questions, and our knowledge of Scripture has increased

I did the half day National Gallery Bible in Art tour with David Yuen as our guide. It was a fantastic day out, and our group learned quite a bit in the 4 hour tour. The visit was well paced and educational as well as entertaining. The tour is suitable for even non Christians visitors interested in knowing more about the paintings discussed.
