5.00Be warned this us a full 12hour day! But very worth it! We booked via TUI & picked up at hotel & driven to the port in Dakar to get a ferry to goree island. After this back to Dakar & then home. All transfers, entries were seamless which was great queueing is a myth in senegal so was relieved. Our guide, Mamadou was excellent throughout, informative, knowledgeable & patient. Gorre island: Seeing the island looming on the ride over is very chilling. On the tour our guide was very unflinching yet factual which is remarkable as the history is so emotive & horrific. The island & house have been made to look very beautiful..you could be anywhere in the Mediterranean which is a bit jarring, given the history. However, a must see/do. Top tip: don't let the vendors travelling over on the ferry lock you into buying only from them, there are plenty on the island who need to make a living aswell & live on the island. Aminata was wonderful & funny & generous. Dakar tour: Well, most of this is from the van with guides pointing out sights etc which is interesting. Quick stop in the market. Same stuff being sold everywhere so was nice enough but nothing to shout about. Visit to the monument which is astounding. Well worth the 200+ steps to the top. We didn't go inside but its an option. Overall, really enjoyable & fun day out to experience senegal & its people

5.00I had a great time on this tour with Pape! He was so kind, provided great detail and information about the different sites, he made sure we were the first people at the ticket lines, boat seating, entering Goree Island, etc. and was just very thoughtful about a lot of the details of the trip, even providing us with hand sanitizer, which I greatly appreciated. His 29 years of experience as a tour guide definitely showed and I highly recommend touring with Pape! It was a well-rounded, comprehensive tour.

5.00The guide picked up us at 8h30 and we came back at 5h30PM. We had a good lunch in a restaurant in Goree island. The guide had a very good knowledge of the historical évents. We recommend this tour.

5.00Incredible experience! Pope is a great professional, he guided us very well and made us understand the culture of Senegal, lexclavage and many monuments. Island of goré and the house of exclaves is just strong in emotion and your well presented by Pope! I recommend you! And the food was very good we ate our hunger! Thank you for everything Pope! Senegal Rek!!

3.00We were on a planned excursion with the RIU Resort...they should organize it so that they have more time to visit Dakar, as in the morning you are on Gorè Island and in the afternoon in Dakar, but too little time...to improve. This criticism was made by various people who participated with us

5.00A big heartfelt thank you to our guide Lamine and the driver who picked us up from our hotel and showed us around the city and the island of Gorée. We highly suggest them if you want to be serene and discover the key points of history and the city, while skipping the crowds! Lamine took great care of us and we felt like vip’s as it was just me and my companion that day. He is a well mannered and cultivated person with lots of stories and good sense of humour, easy to talk to and loved by many people as we witnessed wherever we’ve been to!
