5.00Muzzafar Khan, our guide and the owner of the tour company, is refreshing forthcoming with his opinions on aspects of culture and keeps it real, not just the version you'd spoon feed to tourists. He's crystal clear in his explanations of the sites on the tour and their relation to the history of the city and india. Most important, we found he displays the warmth and engagement of a host, not just a hired guide working for the day. The driver was pleasant and professional, navigating the sometimes challenging traffic with ease, and even accommodated some changes we wanted to the route and end point of the tour. Two highlights of the tour for us were the House of Mother Teresa (The Sisters of Charity) and the Indian Coffee House at the former Albert Hall, a center of Calcutta intellectual life and the Indian Independence movement. We enjoyed very much visiting and learning about these places with Mr. Khan. If you go to Kolkata and want the private tour experience, look no further.

5.00The tour packs in all thé major sites in Kolkata ànd includes a great lunch. The guide is very informative, friendly and experienced. Private tour with air conditioned car beats a bus for getting neat sites ànd weaving through traffic. Highly recommend this option especially if one has a short stay.

Muzaffar Khan, who is both the owner and my guide, gave me a full private tour of Kolkata that exceeded all expectations. I flew in from Delhi, and Muzaffar was waiting for me right at the exit—welcoming me warmly and immediately offering a hot tea, which was such a thoughtful touch. From the start, both Muzaffar and the driver were respectful, friendly, and professional. Muzaffar’s knowledge, passion, and patience truly set him apart. He explained everything in detail, always making sure I understood the history and meaning behind what we were seeing. He carefully planned the itinerary so we were able to visit many places and really explore this incredible old city while learning so much along the way. What made the tour especially unique was Muzaffar’s artistic vision—he gave me a perspective of Kolkata that I don’t think any other guide could match. It was not just a tour, but a meaningful experience. To top it off, when he dropped me back at the airport, Muzaffar had even prepared a small gift for me, which was such a kind gesture and made the experience even more memorable. 5.00Muzzafar is an excellent tour guide. We talked about many philosophical, cultural and religious aspects. It was very enriching. Muzzafar adapted the tour to my preferences and we visited three temples. We had plenty of time for the other essential sights. In the end, the evening ended with sunset at Prinzep Ghat.

5.00I had a great tour with Muzzafar and the driver. As agreed, I was picked up at my hotel on time. There we first discussed what we're going to look at. Muzzafar is very knowledgeable and experienced. The driver drove the vehicle very safely, it was very comfortable. We saw the main sights, the highlight was of course the flower market. The tour also had a lot to offer culinaryly. So we stayed at the India Coffee House and at the end still in a nice bakery. It was a really great day. I can only recommend this tour to anyone, even if you travel alone.

My spouse, visiting for the first time, was excited—but our initial experiences (a tram museum and a 13-stop food tasting tour) booked through Viator were a major letdown. Disappointed and disheartened, we reached out to Viator, and they connected us with Muzaffar Khan—a local expert who turned our Diwali holiday around. From the Missionaries of Charity to the Mallick Ghat Flower Market, Muzaffar curated a day steeped in history, color, and emotion. We marveled at the Howrah Bridge, tasted sweets at Nalin Chandra Das & Sons, and explored St. John’s Church, rich with colonial echoes. College Street (Boi Para) and the Indian Coffee House brought intellectual nostalgia, while the Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and James Prinsep Monument showcased Kolkata’s architectural grandeur. A serene boat ride on the Hooghly River capped off the day. Muzaffar was professional, articulate, and deeply knowledgeable. The vehicle was spotless, the driver courteous, and the pacing perfect.
