Our tour guide, Vince, was perfect. Just the right amount of education and humor to keep everyone in our group engaged and interested!

Our guide was an archeologist and was a wealth of knowledge regarding the site and the time period. The area was not too crowded and that allowed for a better experience.

The weather was miserable! But our guide was very good with lots of good information. A guide is a necessity. The site is spectacular but we didn’t see anything after our tour because there was so much rain the week we went.

My wife and I were so excited to experience Pompeii with my folks. This was kind of a disaster from the beginning. The crowds in the immediate area (even in October) were tremendous, with much confusion all around. It took us forever to (1) park and (2) locate our actual tour group. It was mass confusion for a while as there are so many tour groups and meeting places - just make sure you know the name of the tour company and exactly where you are supposed to meet. Then the headphones were not great and we could not hear our guide. Lasted about two full minutes with our group and guide before we decided to hand back our headphones and simply tour the ruins by ourselves, sans guide. Not worth the cost of the tour for sure. I would have learned much more I am sure with a good tour guide. Perhaps on another trip to Italy.
