What To Expect
Sacatepequez Department
We will visit Santiago Sacatepequez and Sumpango sacatepequez to enjoy both giant kite festivals, we will walk through the cemeteries, principal streets of each town. 7:30 am Meeting point: Central Park Antigua Guatemala 8:00 am Heading to Santiago Sacatepequez 9:30 am Enjoy the kite festival in Santiago Sacatepequez, explore the cemetery and principal streets. 11:30 am heading to Sumpango Sacatepequez (both towns are relatively closer, but for the festival we may find some traffic) 1:00 pm Estimated arriving time to the football field to enjoy the kite festival in Sumpango, 3:00 pm Heading to the cemetery of Sumpango 4:30 pm Heading to the parking lot 5:00 pm Going back to La Antigua

5.00I could not have been happier with our tour. The bus was very comfortable, and the driver was great. We had all the information we needed ahead of time with details on what to bring and wear, which made it even more comfortable. Wilson was so knowledgeable, kind and organized. I feel like we couldn’t have asked for a better guide to share this amazing experience with. We also lucked out by having an incredible group of people on the tour. It just made the whole thing even that much better. We would highly recommend any tour with Wilson. We can’t thank him enough for a once in a lifetime experience!

5.00Wilson’s passion for sharing his culture was absolutely contagious. Every story and every smile felt authentic and full of heart. He went above and beyond to make sure we were all engaged and comfortable. We not only learned about his culture, we were truly experiencing it. Wilson pours so much enthusiasm, pride and warmth into what he does. This wasn’t just a tour, it was a day that connected people and created long-lasting memories. If you are lucky enough to have him as your guide, prepare for a day you will never forget.

5.00This was a wonderful experience and I wouldn’t have done it any other way ! Wilson is amazing, he is so kind and fun and very knowledgeable about the history and heritage, he is full of joy and definitely spread it to the people around him. We were a group of about 15 people, he made sure everyone was happy and doing well through out the day ! I highly recommend doing the giant kite festival tour with Wilson !

5.00Wilson is an excellent and generous guide! I had trouble finding a guided tour that visited both Santiago and Sumpango, and Wilson's itinerary is perfect for anyone looking to spend the entire day at the kite festivals and wanting to experience both. He offered us a wealth of knowledge about the history of Guatemala, as well as the indigenous kaqchikel beliefs and customs surrounding the day, even inviting us to participate in parts of a traditional ceremony. This made the trip particularly meaningful and gave much more context to the shapes and colors of the kites we were seeing that day. He always kept the energy light and upbeat, and offered us water and snacks. We had free time to explore the festivals ourselves and then we would reconnect with him in the shuttle where he would answer any questions we had about what we had seen. I would strongly recommend a tour with Wilson to anyone interested in learning more about Guatemala and it's culture. I learned so much and took many notes. If I could, I would book him for every experience!
