It was definitely worth getting up so early! The sunrise was beautiful on the water. Cris explained a lot to us about the history and origin of the market and we had a lot of fun! After the mega delicious breakfast we were allowed to make our own pasta and also on the cocoa plantation we were educated about everything and Cris had an answer to every question. We had a super charming, interesting and sympathetic tour with our tour guide. We recommend everyone to continue this tour.

It was a wonderful day, we started very early from Ho-chi Minh. But could then catch up on sleep on the way out. Arriving, we were welcomed directly by Cris (our very friendly and also after the hundredth question good-humored tour guide for the day) and we also went straight to the boat. All in all, I would do it again. Thank you Marcel

Chris was our personal tour guide for this 5-6 hour long tour. It was long but we never felt tired and it was worth every penny! Chris (Minh Nhật) is a local enthusiastic young man and we were so lucky he was our guide! He was professional, friendly, helpful and informative. The tour started with a pickup from our hotel, getting on the small boat driven by a kind older lady. She's been driving boats for 30-40 years and was very skilled at maneuvering around the river. We boated over to Chợ Nổi Cái Răng (Cai Rang Floating Market), while Chris shared various tidbits of history and meaning behind the river, the people living on the boats and the market. We enjoyed fresh cafe sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk) and fresh squeezed orange juice from a man on another boat, then got to enjoy a lovely bowl of hủ tiếu noodle (veggie or meat) for breakfast while the sun rose over us. It was magical. Chris then showed us one of the families that lives in a set of 4 house boats on the river, while enjoying fresh cut local fruit. After this we went down a small canal to check out water coconut and then another one to go to the small noodle factory. At the noodle factory we learned how noodles we were made from rice flour and tapioca starch, steamed, dried then cut. We bought some unique colored noodles here made with dragon fruit, butterfly pea flower, turmeric and pandan leaf. The tour continued with a visit to a local cacao farm where the owner and his family walked us through the process of growing cacao beans to processing them into final products. We got to taste the chocolate along the way and were wowed by the rich intensity of the cacao. We finished the tour with a lovely 1 hour-ish boat ride back to our hotel. Chris and the boat driver (Mung) made this one of the most amazing and unique tours we've been on. Would highly recommend this to anyone!!

We booked this tour on short notice, and everything went smoothly; communication with the agency was prompt and efficient. We had a great morning experiencing the floating market, cacao farm and rice noodle production. Our guide Thinh was very attentive and knowledgeable, providing a lot of information on everything we saw. He even took some great pictures of us that he sent us at the end. All of the food (soup, coffee, fruit) he got for us at the market was delicious. 100% recommend. Thank you Thinh! ❤️

The market itself is not very big but our guide Yen Nhi has made this tour unforgettable. His explanations were very rewarding. She adapted to our desires by helping us find an ao dai at the earth market then took us to Chùa Ông temple. Thank you for making us live a spiritual moment full of emotions. I recommend this guide very professional, caring and full of humanity.

Full on all day tour starting at 5.30am to catch the sunrise on the river. Breakfast on our boat in the floating market was a real treat. Both the noodle factory and cocoa farm were well worth including and then an hour car ride to the nature reserve, not so much wildlife, but did see a snake. Edward was a great guide and kept us amused all day with his jokes.

Even if there are not many merchants left, the visit is still worth the cost. Excellent breakfast in the Boat and fun to participate in the making of noodles. A very nice and careful boat captain. A very interesting young guide with a very good French vocabulary.
