What To Expect

Roman Ruins of Milreu

The Milreu Roman Ruins correspond to a rustic villa, a complex that was built in the 1st century AD and restored in the 3rd century AD. They consist of a big manor house, agricultural facilities, a bathhouse and a temple. As for the residential area, which can be visited today, it made use of the part of the buildings of the former villa and was organized around a central peristyle –with 22 columns–, which surrounded an open courtyard with the garden and respective water tank. The villa was decorated with mosaics of Tunisian origin, representing the marine fauna.

Estoi

Estói Village, in Faro, maintains the Algarve character in its streets and whitewashed houses, chimneys and small gardens with trees and flowers. The good quality of the soil and the existence of very rich water sources are the main reasons for the fact that it was inhabited since the earliest times. The gardens of the Palace, in the late-Romantic style, are arranged in several plans, with staircases, lakes, marble and ceramic sculptures.

After coming to the Algarve for the last 10 years we discovered Gabriel on social media by chance and boy was he fab! He picked us up from the hotel and right away we knew we were going to have a good day. We went to Estoi and Santa Barbara. Saw beautiful gardens at the palace .He is so passionate about his birthplace of Faro and what a wonderful historical city. Gabriel took us to a lovely restaurant for tapas our favourite type of food. Owners knew him and made us so welcome even though it was so busy. Food was delicious and perfect. Definitely recommend this tour and Gabriel’s passion about the area. He’s the best guide we’ve had on any tour. Will use him again without a doubt. Norman and Fiona

Wonderful time we had with Gabriel! He picked up in hotel and we went to small villages, local market in Loulé, roman ruins of Milreu, beautiful gardens of Estoi Palace, ending with a quiet and relaxing hike at Faro old town! The last but not the least... Gabriel choose a local restaurant with a very tasty food, good music and gentle staff! He's very knowledgeable guide and very funny person. I highly recommend Gabriel to guide you in Algarve 👌
Gabriel’s Tours are a must do while in the Algarve of Portugal.

I would like to start by saying the tour operator Gabriel was 5+ Stars. He was on time, very attentive, very informative and extremely helpful. Being a tour operator myself I set my expectations high and Gabriel crossed every T and dotted every I. Gabriel showed us beautiful landscapes, historic ruins, views, markets, and the town of Faro just to name a few. He is very passionate about his tours and where he comes from. I would highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your trip to Portugal.

Gabriel’s passion is his country, its history and its beauty, and he loves to share it with his guests. We saw a breathtaking view of the ocean from the cliffs, explored a ruin, then visited a castle and a beautiful cathedral in the old town of Faro. Gabriel entertained us with stories of his youth, and showed us places we would never have found on our own. Gabriel always knows the best places to eat, and the perfect dishes to enjoy. A smile and wave from his mom touched all our hearts. A stroll through the old town of Faro and a stop at the lagoon rounded out another perfect day in the Algarve. Thank you again Gabriel see you next year!

Had a great time with Gabriel, who is so helpful and has so much energy and passion and desire to share his knowledge. Faro is a beautiful city and so easy to walk. Gabriel showed us so many places we would have never seen and shared so much local knowledge with us. This was definitely the highlight of our holiday and we will be booking with Gabriel again!

We have a great tour with Gabriel! We were meant to have it a few days earlier but another one of our excursions ran over so we called Gabriel and he was happy to delay a few days to fit us in, which we were so grateful for. He walked us all around Faro, explaining the history and taking some great photos of us to capture the beautiful scenery. Even though the weather was pretty poor we still had a great time. We went to an incredibly beautiful castle (which someone we were on tour with actually decided that she might use it as her wedding venue as it was that amazing!!!). Gabriel even brought us some massive fresh oranges from his farm (which were the best oranges I’ve ever tasted). Please book this tour, i can only imagine that it would be even more fantastic in the sunshine!!
