At Fiordland Jet we want to take tourism back to what it use to be! With a small group of 11-13 passengers per boat, our tours are all about making a personal connection with each one of our guests. This is an interactive tour - not just a thrill ride. We are the only commercial scenic operators on these waterways, which gives guests a truly unique opportunity to experience the magic of Fiordland without long lines or crowds

What To Expect
Begin your tour at our office to get fitted for your bike and helmet plus a spray coat and life jacket. Take a short bus ride to the boat ramp where you'll board the boat with ease thanks to convenient ramps. After a short safety brief it's time to hit the water! Travel down the Upper Waiau River with crisp air rushing by, crystal-clear waters below and stunning views all around. Pause along the way to learn about the area and it's rich history, have some laughs, spot trout, re-imagine Lord of the Rings from 3 film locations and listen to native birds as your driver quiets the engine. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities plus high-speeds and spins - which are great fun for all! Emerge onto Lake Manapouri and embrace the silence while surrounded by towering mountains and a view that will leave you speechless. Disembark into the National Park for a short guided nature stroll among native flora and fauna. Jump back in the boat and head back up river for more FUN! Back at the boat ramp your bike will be waiting to travel the designated cycle trail 10km/7mi along the river's edge back to Te Anau's town centre. The trail is well-formed and just requires a moderate level of fitness.

5.00We had a brilliant morning travelling by jet boat down to Lake Manapouri then back to where we started from. We decided to cycle the 12k back to Te Anau on the Lake2Lake trail which was fabulous. It gets very cold on the boat, even in summer so wear the extra coats on offer!

5.00Our guide, and jet boat driver, Alex, was awesome! She is so pleasant, knowledgeable and capable. We had a blast racing across the river, doing 360 turns and enjoying the scenery. Alex gave us the perfect balance of thrills and excitement combined with time for detailed explanations of the rich history of the area and photo opportunities. We felt safe the whole time. We were also glad that we took the beautiful bike ride along the river back into town. I definitely recommend the e-bike, as there are a few hills that I wouldn’t want to pedal on my own exertion. That part is self guided, and the bikes are yours for the whole day. All the staff we met were super nice!

5.00We had an amazing jet boat experience with Harry as our driver. He gave clear, engaging explanations throughout the trip, sharing interesting details about the river and surrounding landscape, which really added to the experience. The ride itself was fantastic — plenty of 360° spins that were great fun without ever feeling unsafe. On top of that, the views were absolutely stunning, with classic Fiordland scenery in every direction. A perfect mix of adrenaline, scenery and knowledge. Highly recommend, especially if you get Harry as your driver!

5.00An impromptu wander along the lakeside had me contemplating hiring a bike for the day… I stopped in at Fiordland Jet & was given options including a jet boat ride! I came back just in time to snag the last spot in the boat for the 2pm journey. I did not regret it. The team were super helpful & friendly and conditions were great on the lake! A few spins, some splashes and some added history about the area, thanks to expert driver Andy - A natural skipper out on the water! Alex also joined our boat & added some laughs and bonus facts/ knowledge about the flora and fauna on the Kepler Track (you can tell she is passionate about the environment & conservation). Money well spent and an enjoyable afternoon! Making me feel much less sad about being unable to hike the Kepler Track.
