Kath was great guide and full of knowledge about the city and our food. There were 5 stops at locations that, with more time in the city, I would go to again

They are number 1 for a reason! We had pleasure of tours with both Kath and Bruce and gig to meet Ellie as well. This is a company that takes not just good food but caring about NZ to heart. They were respectful of dietary concerns and shared more than just food passion with us. Amy tour with them will be great and we already look forward to tour with them next year in Dunedin!

Alex was both personable and knowledgeable about the Auckland food scene. Each stop the opportunity to try something different and delicious. My favorite were the dumplings!

One of the most gourmet food tours I have been on when traveling. All stops were great, not to mention the hat restaurants, very unexpected.

The is is my second time in this tour and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it both times! We went to a couple repeat stops (not at all a disappointment), and then 3 additional new places. All of the food is delicious, the tour group and guide were wonderful, and I left with a few ideas for places I wanted to get back to.

Great places to eat and learn about the city. Our tour guide, Kath, did a great job. It's a good tour to take if you've never been to Auckland.

A very interesting culinary experience with elements of New Zealand's economic and history. For those planning a short stay in Auckland, it offers the opportunity to explore the diversity of local cuisine, and for those staying longer, it offers some ideas for further exploration of local flavors. I highly recommend this adventure.

We’ve done food tours all over the world, and the Flavours of Our City tour with Big Foody Food Tours easily ranks as one of our favorites. Our guide, Laura, was outstanding. She struck that perfect balance of being knowledgeable and engaging without ever making the tour feel scripted or rushed. You can tell she genuinely loves Auckland and its food scene, and that energy carried through the entire experience. The pacing of this tour is what really sets it apart. We visited a great mix of spots around the Auckland CBD, trying everything from incredibly fresh local seafood to elevated takes on New Zealand classics, plus a simple but excellent cheese plate and some truly standout gelato at the end. Every stop felt intentional, and nothing felt like filler. One thing we really appreciated was the portioning. It’s very easy for food tours to go overboard, but this one was thoughtfully designed. We left satisfied, not stuffed, which made it much more enjoyable and actually gave us room to go back and revisit a few places later in our trip. Beyond the food, this tour gave us a much better sense of the city itself. We walked away with a list of restaurants we were excited to return to and a better understanding of how Auckland’s food scene reflects its culture and diversity. If you’re spending any time in Auckland, this is absolutely worth doing early in your trip. It’s a great introduction to the city, and Laura makes it even better.
