The museum was free the day we were there. It was packed. Would have taken over an hour to enter. Passed it up and lost the cost of 3 tickets.

We expected to be on a tour at 9;20, we stood in line for over a hour before the Domo opened. Should set a better expectation

For many years the Duomo in central Florence has been a not to be missed experience. Photographs give only a hint of the dramatic dome, mosaic floors and glorious artwork. Having visited several times, I was looking forward to sharing this experience with my daughter and granddaughter during a recent visit to Florence, May of 2026. I was profoundly disappointed to find that the dome is completely obscured by the screening and scaffolding necessary to current renovations. The cost and time spent was totally inappropriate to the limitations of the experience. Until the work is complete, I recommend you included one of the many alternate experiences in Florence.

The audio guide inside Florence Cathedral added a whole new dimension. It felt like history was speaking directly to me.You really need to be there and hear the stories behind it.

Do NOT BOOK WITH VIATOR! Our tour was to meet at 10:00 am … we were at the correct place at 9:45 am. By 10: 00 there more than 10 people waiting. No one came and when contacting the office they said we were late. We were NOT late and have the photos to prove it. We deserve a refund. We are angry when they try to make it our fault when it was entirely there’s. Shame on you VIATOR. You scammed us and ruined our final day in Florence.

Honestly, paying €9 to search everywhere for a pseudo-guide who hands us their phone and makes us scan a QR code (which gives access to the audio of the tour) and tells us to line up where other groups with audio guides and a guide are already in the middle of explanations seemed a bit strange to us...

This wasn’t one of those “take a photo and leave” places. I actually stayed longer than I planned. The atmosphere makes you want to pause and just absorb everything around you. The audio guide felt like a quiet companion, not a lecture.

We paid to beat the queue and queued for 1 1/2 hours. We couldn’t hear the commentary till in the cathedral as too far back.

This was very well organized and for Florence a good use of time management. Our guide was very well informed and seemed to truly enjoy her job and made it a fun experience for us. Even for people like us who are sick of churches in Italy, this one is worth a visit.

Well worth the money. Emanuella was friendly and very knowledgable. Highly recommend. The line looks very long but it is not.
