1.00I bought three skip-the line tickets for the Duomo in Florence. When I arrived to the meeting point I was informed that our tickets weren’t skip-the line. I had to do a 45 minute line for an entrance that is free but for which I payed. Why do you sell tickets that aren’t what you offer?

1.00Where to even begin… what a nightmare and total scam. We paid for a skip the line duomo cathedral pass at 9:45am - it’s a product that doesn’t even exist… you don’t have to pay to enter, and there’s no skipping the line. Further, we were given incorrect information by the tour operator, after asking multiple times. Instead, we were given a ticket to enter the Santa Reparata at 4pm, which didn’t tie to our Viator ticket (again, 9:45am booking). We were told it’s ok and you can enter at any time. After waiting in line for 45 minutes (not pleasant during a summer heat wave), we were turned away at the entrance, as despite what the operator claims, the pass they gave us does not in fact get you in at all times to the Santa Reparata. After wasting multiple hours on our honeymoon, we simply asked for a refund, as we had other tickets booked throughout the day. Viator customer service hung up on my wife during the first call, and after 4 different instances of back and forth, ultimately refused to refund us. To make matters worse, they questioned my character by asserting we used the service provided and are just looking for a refund (this is despite having used Viator for far more expensive experiences, including days prior). There are too many different tour operators and places to book experiences - avoid this tour, as it’s selling a product that simply doesn’t exist, where the ticket is 100% NOT what they say it is; and also, avoid Viator, as their customer service has been nothing short of a disaster - Headout has been much more helpful when issues arise from time to time, which I totally understand and appreciate can be out of Viator/Headout (or whomever’s) control. But Viator’s handling of the situation has clearly been a nightmare. Long story short, avoid avoid avoid - do not fall for this scam that we and many others have unfortunately come across. Enjoy Firenze!!
