As the sun drops over the Arno River, you'll cross into Oltrarno, the quieter half of Florence that locals never left.
Your guide walks you into a centuries-old fiaschetteria for local wine paired with plates built on Tuscan cucina povera, out to a wine window still used exactly as it was in Florence's plague years, and into a deli where the self-appointed King of Cheese let's you try his best pecorino and parmigiano cheeses.
There's a Negroni lesson at a historic wine shop, a slow-cooked stew to go with your Super Tuscan wine, and a gelato finish from the shop Florentines voted their own favorite. A small group, and six or seven carefully selected stops.

This is a great group tour, especially when the guide is great and the group is fun. Our guide (ASSIA !!) grew up in the neighborhood and she knew every nook and cranny as well as most of the locals. We tasted great examples of local food and vino. Never once felt rushed or steered to "vendors". Just a great example of what tours like this should be.

As a solo traveler, this tour was so much fun and incredibly informative! We tried authentic local dishes I never would have found on my own. Martino, a Florence native, was an excellent guide who shared fascinating history and culture while making everyone in the group feel welcome and included. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence!

All things considered, this was a great way to spend a few hours of an evening! We couldn’t believe how many different drinks we tried or how much food we were served at every stop. Having a local tour guide take us through Italian staples was a truly special experience and made all the difference. The stories, the background and the context to the food and drinks made every bite that little bit more special. A wonderful way to spend an evening and absolutely a highlight of our trip. Thanks to Caterina for all the tips and we hope to visit again soon!

Such a yummy and informative food walking tour! The places we visited with our amazing guide Assisa really resonated with us and we left happy and very full. Drinks were awesome and the size of group was also quite nice! I also appreciate the accommodation of my vegetarian and gluten free needs - which Assisa managed seamlessly.

Thus was a fun and informative experience. There were only 4 of us which made it very enjoyable. Our guide, Valeri, was engaging and knowledgeable. Wines and food were excellent.
