This three and a half hour food and wine tour offers 5 authentic tastings (the food served in abundance will replace the prenzo) in different places in the village of Pescara Vecchia: it starts with a visit to the local market and discover seasonal products and secret ingredients. You will do 2 tastings in the family-run stores of the market.
You will continue in the village of the native places of Gabriele D’Annunzio doing 2 more tastings in the alleys among the dozens of restaurants, bistros and wine bars. The tour will end at a historic Pescara pastry shop with a tasting of the typical Pescara cake that Gabriele D’Annunzio loved so much: the Parrozzo

This tour was very pleasant I really appreciated the knowledge of our guide! I learned a lot about Abruzzo cuisine. Definitely recommend, do not choose another one before this tour!

Stefania was a great host, she was enthousiastic and helped us with the pharmacy. She took her time to explain us the history of Pescara and other stuff. Also we talked about random stuff to know each other better.

Me and my partner took part in the food tour of Pescara Vecchia starting from the Porta Nuova market the protagonist was the food: Sandwich with porchetta, Paillotte cacio e ove, local cheeses and delicious Pasta alla Chitarra. The guide Luca was courteous and prepared.

Interesting, relaxing, tasty and fun tour! The proposed tour offers really satisfying culinary stops that start from Pescara Market, followed by pizza tasting by the sea, first of typical pasta on the farm and closing artisan ice cream parlor. Perhaps, overall, if I may give a little advice to optimize the service, a little too gastronomic (lots of food) and a little eno (local wine to taste that is really spacey).

Twice cancelled. Second time we were already in Pescara by train. Stay away. We never went on tour. So the choice is yours to make. Killed a half day on train back and forth from Giulinova and had a cafe.

Was told the tour guide was sick so it was cancelled and we are hopefully getting a refund. Looking at the other comments this seems to be a common occurrence - do not book.

You might want to make sure you have an alternative planned for the day, as this was the second experience in two days cancelled at short notice the operator, Gustabruzzo. And I mean short notice - we got an email at 6:16 for a tour meant to start at 10.00 am. No reason given and there was nothing in the booking that said the tour would be cancelled if enough people didn’t book it. I get that life and emergencies happen, and would be more understanding if there was just a brief reason given for the cancellation. In the absence of any explanation, I’ve been left feeling that Gustabruzzo have not been very honest about the terms of their offering or caring about their customers. The one saving grace is that Viator have been super helpful about it all - can’t fault them.

Dramatic. Not to eat half a rooster. Complaint was ignored. How dare you serve something like that. Pay the full price. Once never again.

I received a message an hour before the tour that it was cancelled because of the “sudden illness” of the tour guide, which, looking back on past reviews, seems to be a frequent occurrence. While we were offered the option of rescheduling for two days later, we had to leave Pescara the next day. We were told we’d get a refund. I guess I don’t understand not having a back-up tour guide.
