This tour shouldn't be labeled Tasty tour because you don't get much to eat. The title should be History tour and small bites. Raf was very knowledgeable about her city Civitavecchia and she was very enthusiastic to talk about every historical detail. But the Tasty food was non-existent. We had hard, stale donuts, bland, dry lemon cake, and small piece of biscotti (Italian Christmas cookie) for breakfast, then we walked and walked and walked until we had a few small pieces of pizza. There was no water or wine or anything to drink. Then we went to a fish market and finally at the end we went to a restaurant to eat what amounts to an appetizer, some cheese, gross wine, and crackers. I expected to sample different food at each location we stopped at and to learn how that food or wine or dessert or cheese was important to Civitavecchia. Instead I had a 2 hour History lesson about all the places the US bombed the city during WWII. Sorry, Italy was on the wrong side of right during a war in the 1940's.

This was a good tour with our guide Rafaela. She was so passionate and was a local. She knew the history and was able to bring us to some neat spots. The best stop we had was to try different pizzas from the area. They are not Neapolitan style but were still good. The last stop had a bunch of local things to try so you won’t be hungry. The first stop we had for breakfast was a really cool experience. It had a truly authentic and Local vibe. The guide was introducing us to her friends and we got to feel part of the action. Very welcoming people and we had a lemon cake that was really good. I wish I could have bought that cake to take home. The Gelato was really good as well.

It wasnt what we expected. We were expecting a food tour and got a history tour. Also , we didn't make it to one of the stops because it was closed. So we felt a little short changed.

I found the casual walking tour very interesting, informative and a nice way to get to know the town of Civitavecchia. It made me like this city even more than I expected.
