• Bait and switch!

  Do not book anything with glacier helicopters. And especially through Viator. The sales girl at the counter tried to blame Viator for the reason why their helicopters weren’t flying for two days in a row! My husband and I think that their game is to overbook and then to make people wait until it’s finally their turn. They always have the caveat that they won’t fly under unsafe conditions. And not being a helicopter pilot, of course we couldn’t make that call. However, the entire experience was very screwy. And now Viator is dragging their feet onrefunding our money. Even though I sent them a voucher proving that they had finally canceled our flight. We arrived on time on the first day for our flight and they kept shuffling us around, trying to get us to go on a different flight than the one we had booked. Then the girl at the desk said that she had put us on a 930 flight the next morning. When we showed up at 9 AM, they said they weren’t flying again! It was a perfectly clear day. I told them that we could not wait around when they tried to schedule us on a 1 PM flight. It was clear to me that they just kept putting us on later and later flights because they were overbooked. I cannot prove this, but it seems to not be a reliable company. They emailed Viator to confirm that our reservation had been canceled and yet Viator is saying that they never received the email. If you want to take a helicopter flight over the glaciers, there are plenty of places that will book you on the spot. Do not go through this booking company. Just stop alongside the road at any of the helicopter places that will take you over the glaciers. It is a little more expensive, but a longer flight with guaranteed snow landings. Do not fall for this bait and switch.

  Simply a breathtaking trip that topped our visit. The helicopter ride was excellent and the pilot informed us of the natural history of the glaciers and helped take pictures. Highly recommended.

  Due to bad weather, our flight was rescheduled twice and then moved to the next day. The staff at the office in Franz were really accommodating, I asked to get an earlier flight because I was leaving town. She put me on a 9:30 flying from Fox instead. The flight was amazing. A clear day and the most stunning scenery. A worthwhile experience that I would recommend to anyone.
