We started at the old church which was the most fascinating part of the tour for myself. The views were breathtaking, company & the conversations were even better . We were looked after very well by the hosts Matthew & Michelle , the Franschhoek tours will keep getting popular as the summer approaches however this walk is absolutely perfect for winter season as well ! The distances to walk was fair and we could enjoy every single vineyard for what they had to offer, the pace was very relaxed and we never felt rushed. Food was just as amazing as we had a beautifull lunch at my favorite restaurant La Cotte Farm. The local people will certainly enjoy this experience as well as international travelers as this offer suits all pockets. Furthermore it was overall something out of a fairytale. Great people with stunning surroundings and fantastic wines, my day was fulfilled to the fullest, a tat tipsey but here in the winelands tipsey guests are happy guests ☺ A big thank you to the team that made this experience possible. It was truly a memory of a lifetime to come together and share what our dreams are made of . Devoted to the hospitality sector in the winelands I can truly recommend this remarkable experience to all ages. 5 star service all the way! Much much appreciation !!!

I attended the Franschhoek Wine Walk on 06 May 2025 with colleagues in the tourism industry. Matt was a great guide, bringing the history and stories of people, wine and food of the Franschhoek valley together in a fascinating way! I have visited Franschhoek many times over the years, but have never experienced it from this unique perspective. This is a must-do tour when you visit the breath-taking-beautiful valley of Franschhoek! Keep up the great work Matt!

Wow, one of the best curated experiences I have ever had! Matthew has "dreamt up" a gem of a short tour through the winelands of Franschhoek, encompassing some of the best wineries of the area and linked it to the "dreamers", both past and present, who have influenced the Franschhoek we see today. A charming meander with a charmingly different guide and a sublime dining experience at La Cotte to end off our time together. An experience I highly recommend to both locals and overseas patrons and one I would be happy to repeat.

I heard about Matt and his wine walk through a friend and am SO glad that I took her suggestion and booked a tour when I had friends visiting from the U.S. As a teacher, I love a good story and appreciate someone who is both knowledgeable and passionate about sharing stories. Matt’s stories were funny, insightful, and taught me a ton about South Africa, people pivotal in Franschhoek’s development and history. Matt is a great storyteller who is super responsive and creates a beautiful and memorable experience for his guests. You will not regret booking a tour with Matt!

A great experience. Matt kept us updated prior to our departure from the UK. Start point is obvious and easy to find. Matt was on time and welcoming. It was clear from the onset that he's very passionate about what he does, and it made for an enjoyable experience. We booked the trip for the walk, the scenery and the information. We weren't disappointed in the slightest. Even as a none drinker the tour was great. The views were stunning. The background and information on the area was insightful and well presented by Matt. He really wants people to enjoy the tour. If you're going to do the tour for the wine as well I'm confident, from overheard comments from other people at the various winerys you WON'T be disappointed! There were snacks at each stop. The culminating lunch was superb and was a great end to an interesting and insightful walk. Please note the walk isn't taxing, is led by Matt at a nice pace. Matt seems a lovely guy and wants people to enjoy the whole experience. Much better than driving yourself or taking the wine tram/bus in our opinion.

We did the Franschhoek Wine Wander on an absolutely boiling hot summers day, but the beautiful 4 km walk was very relaxed and could be enjoyed by almost any fitness level. Matt is full of interesting facts and humorous anecdotes and really keeps you entertained. He clearly is passionate about what he does. The scenery was absolutely stunning, being surrounded by beautiful mountains and strolling through vineyards and manicured gardens (at Leeu). The food and wine was also divine, especially the harvest table lunch at the end! I highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again.

This has to be one of the most incredible walking tours I have ever done. Matt really brings alive the history of Franschoek and keeps his audience captivated with unique stories and hilarious one liners. The wine tastings were incredible and lunch was incredible.

I can truly say it was a great day out. Matt has an extensive knowledge with regards to the Franschoek area history and is a great story teller. The walk was at a comfortable pace with many photo oppertunities along the route. Two highlight for me was stopping enroute to enjoy a glass of Pierre Jordaan complimented by a Pasteis De Nate, lunch was at La cotte, excellent views. Would i do a walking tour with Matt again? Most definetly, well worth the 5 stars awarded.
