Board Freedom at 9.10am, ready for departure at 9.30am. The relaxed and scenic tour departs from Berth 4A at the Great Sandy Straits Marina in Urangan Harbour. Onboard our comfortableful, 58ft catamaran, we pass Round Island, the Urangan Jetty and Big Woody Island and then head towards Platypus Bay where the whales will be sighted! The tour usually follows much of the Western Beaches of K'gari. It may be possible to witness many different whale behaviours, and, because we have all day, we can spend more time with the whales, witnessing them express their natural behaviours and often approaching the boat to check us out as we wave and call them in to us! Other marine animals, such as dolphins, turtles and sea birds may be observed as well. Guests will be offered morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea during the tour. Free tea, coffe and water is available all day and other soft drinks or alcohol can be purchased on board as well. With three viewing platforms plus water level, you will have 360 degree views. We have a comfortable saloon, three toilets and a wonderful, friendly crew to look after you while you have the experience of a lifetime!

An interesting experience and close encounters with whales. However the time is too long for an elderly person. A half day trip would adequate.

Fantastic experience, the crew went over and above to provide a fantastic day of Whale watching, great on board meals and plenty of viewing room to see these gentle creatures close up.

Five stars to the crew of Freedom III - a truly memorable day on the water cruising with the whales out from Hervey Bay. This is the only way to experience extended time interacting with the migrating whales . Both morning and afternoon tea was served along with a delicious lunch - the crew were so helpful, obliging and knowledgeable . . cheers to the effervescent Toni and her efficient on board "sidekicks" - you made the whole day so memorable. Plenty of space and numerous viewing spots throughout the vessel with little extras like binoculars and even sunscreen provided - Drink prices were also quite reasonable. Totally recommended , , , cheers and thanks for a great day.

What an awesome day! We saw lots of whales, up close and personal. Our skipper Toni did a great job locating several different pods, and made the day even more enjoyable with her entertaining and informative commentary. Very highly recommend this tour!!
