Lago Di Carezza
We will cross the Ega Valley that begins at Bolzano and runs eastward between the Rosengarten and the Latemar mountains. This road was built in 1895 when the territory was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. Part of the route is located in a canyon carved by the river Ega. We will stop at Carezza Lake, the most beautiful lake of the Dolomites: 30 minutes of staying with a walk around the lake if you want.
Passo di Costalunga
Then we will arrive to Costalunga Pass. Near the Pass we will see the historical “Grand Hotel Carezza”, built in 1893, the first luxury hotel in the Dolomites which hosted very important guests like the Empress Sissi, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie.

What an amazing day we had. Alissandro was a great guide and safe driver. We truly enjoyed his attention to history, timing of the day (great tip to start earlier to avoid traffic). Definitely will use his services on future trips back.

If you’re thinking about booking a Dolomite’s tour this is it. Alex picked us up early in the morning to avoid the crowds and boy was it the right decision. We had most places to ourselves and no crowds in our photos. The tour was phenomenal, one of the best I’ve ever been on. Alex was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable and he even brought us heavy winter jackets as we didn’t anticipate it to be zero Celsius at the peak in August. I can’t wait to come back and do the other side of Dolomite’s with Alex.

Alex is a fantastic guide. He is very kind and answered all of our questions about the Dolomites. It was so peaceful because the season closed the day before our tour! Alex explains a lot of information about the beautiful mountains. I highly recommend taking the tour, it is absolutely gorgeous with a great person leading it.

Alex made our visit to the Dolomites more than an amazing memory. Beginning with his fun personal connection and conversation- to his great knowledge of the towns, villages and destinations. He made each stop special with helpful tips and advice- especially at the Sass Pordoi - where we took the cable car up the mountain- it was very cloudy but moving- he suggested to sit down for lunch immediately- we did, and 15 minutes later it began to rain, it was soon packed in the restaurant- we finished lunch and it cleared up giving us great vista views and nice hiking. I am sure there are other guides, and tours… I would tell you to choose this one and skip any others - he is well worth it!

Greeted by our guide Alessandro (Alex) with a wide smile and contagious positive personality. What a great start. As we drive out of Bolzano Alex explained to us the days agenda. About an hour in we stopped by a small lake we walked around. Perfect stretch of the legs with beautiful vista of the Dolomites. We proceeded up 27 switchbacks to a gondola. Understanding these are very thin roads…Alex deftly handled the driving keeping us all confident and comfortable. Once up the gondola we did short hikes with unbelievable gorgeous views! We came back on a gorgeous road and it was an amazing day!! The star of the show was Alex. He was funny, informative, and super accommodating. When he drove away I realized I was going to miss him!! Highly recommended!!!

Very nice city, with a contact with a pretty lush nature, compared to other cities in Europe. Actually a piece of German in Italy.

Such an incredible day trip. Alessandro is one of the best tour guides I’ve ever experienced. Great communication, knowledgeable, and really cared that we had a good day. We have been recommending him to all our friends and family.
