• Bernini Express Beautiful Alps. Tour guide could have been nicer!

  The Alps are beautiful, St. Moritz was basically closed except for a few stores. Our tour guide acted like a bully at times, telling us to stop talking or not to sit in a certain spot. He acted like we were children! I’m no child at 68, a lighter mood from him would have made the trip amazing.

  The tour guide was really great. Energetic, knkowledgable, and provided a wonderful experience. We enjoyed beautiful scenery while also learning a lot about the area around the Italian/Swiss border.

  Unfortunately, inclement weather (rain and clouds) made it very difficult to see the bigger mountains (why, I'm guessing, most sign up for this excursion.) I understand the tour operator can't control the weather, but everyone should be aware of this before they book. The bigger disappointed was how the tour company handled the bus transportation. Unprecedented flooding in Lake Como made the travel bus 45 minutes late. It would have been understandable if they notified us via the same text messaging platform they used that morning reminding us to be on time. As a result, we waited in the rain wondering if the trip was cancelled. The van driver that finally picked us up offered no explanation or apology. The delay also shortened our stop in St. Moritz to less than an hour (versus 2.) Again, I realize the travel company can't control the weather, but I feel like things could have been handled better.

  The weather was so bad we started to walk to the meeting place in pouring rain and thunder and lightning, the water on the road was over our ankles. We contacted the trip coordinator prior to the departure time that we could not make it. I requested a refund and was denied. I find that a poor customer service response.

  This was an excellent train journey on the Bernina Express. However getting from Como to St Moritz & especially back again was a challenging series of coach trips that involved a change & no stops on the return journey (3hrs). The whole day was 13hrs long for essentially a 2 & a half hour beautiful train ride plus lovely mountain views along the way, with an hour to explore St Moritz. However a lot of the journey was in long tunnels too. It's a lovely experience in the mountains and on the train but you do need stamina for the coach journey. Our guide was enthusiastic but with 3 languages to convey by the time he got around to English the area he was describing was often passed or we were back in a long road tunnel.

  The tour is along day but worth it. The train journey through the Italian alps is stunning with great scenery. Unfortunately tje day went it was very cloudy with rain but the views and train were still very enjoyable. Our Italian tour guide...sorry don't know his name....was great. Gave us lots of information and was really funny but didn't waffle or overdo the facts. A little more time in St Moritz would have been nice so you could explore the town a bit more.

  The itinerary was a bit misleading. We started in Como, but apparently there was another group that started in Milan. We boarded a bus in Como and then went to another meeting place to meet up on a larger bus with the group from Milan. The stop for coffee was very nice and had good food. We only had about an hour in St. Moritz which was too short. The Bernina train was definitely the highlight of the trip, and we had great weather and beautiful views. Trip back I felt took longer than it should as we again had to meet up with another bus driver to take us back to Como. Most disappointing part of the tour was the tour guide. She had minimal knowledge and pointed out obvious things like 'There is Lake Como' on your right side. While on the train, she sat at one end of the train carriage we were all in and did get up and say a few things, but most of the group could not hear her. She didn't make an effort to move forward in the train and repeat herself for those of us not sitting within a few rows of where she sat.

  Trip was worth it. Awesome views. Something you do once. Tour guide was great. Only issue was with pick up. Arranged an alternate pickup location but once I had paid got no responses from tour operator. Completely ignored. Had no idea how to meet up with bus. Luckily sound other bus drivers helped me locate my driver and all was well. Tour guide said they were meant to send me a photo for who to meet but got nothing. Lesson learned get all the details before you pay.
