Very well organised and great trip. The sleeping buses were very comfortable (the wider one was better :)), allowed us to rest before and after the day tour. We had great time, the guide we have was really fun, the sand dunes were impressive and the views stunning.

The tour was organised very well. Thuy our guide really took care of us especially while walking on Fairy Stream. Her explanations was clear on the itinerary for the day. Helped us took photos and checked with us if everything was OK. Sleeper bus was very comfy on the 3 hours journey to & fro to MuiNe. On top of this, there was a simple dinner provided before our bus back to HCMC. Highly recommended.

Was wonderful experience, the locations were great, thou shame it was cloudy so sunset view wasn't quite there but overall it was great. our guide and driver were excellent. Small negative was the arranged bus on the way to the tour seemed to be overbooked as there were people who were assigned to the same seats as us and caused a bit of confusion.

  • Tourist trap, not worth your money and time!!!

I booked the Mui Ne tour after reading a promising description of the tour: "A tour that makes you feel like you're traveling through different countries in one day. The tour takes you past sand dunes, fishing villages, a waterfall, rice fields and a coffee plantation, among other things." I was really looking forward to it as a main activity in the region and was willing to pay the hefty price of 95 euros. The initial duration to final destination would take 3 hours, with stops included. This was a hell of a 5!! hour trip, in the bus the travel time was adjusted by the guides, much to the frustration of myself and our group. * First stop was the coffee plantation, where a man stood next to a coffee tree in a flowerpot and gave an explanation that anyone could give. After this we could buy an overpriced coffee (!), so already not included in our price. Behind the 'coffee plantation' where we saw nothing of, there were cages to be seen with tigers, monkeys, lions all on chains, elephants outside on chains... Horrible to watch. * Second stop, the initial restaurant was cancelled and became a track café where the guides gave us a choice of 2 very simple dishes (yes, Johnny tours doesn't want to spend your money on you!). * Third stop, the sand dunes where we rode with 2 on the back of a quad bike by a guide, drove 15mins through the dunes and could take some pictures. It certainly wasn't worth checking this one out. * Fourth stop was just dégoûtant. What was supposed to be a "fairy river" wasn't much better than an open sewer you could walk through. It just defied all imagination to do this at all, and then paid another 95 euros for this! * Fifth stop was not the fishing village, but just a picture of the bay and a walk on the beach. * Sixth stop again the dunes before sunset, but our guides were too late so it was already half under. * Seventh stop that was not planned, after insisting and complaining about the tour to our guides we demanded that we still have dinner. After all, it was late, and our eating budget was not at all exhausted with the first lunch. It again became a very basic eating place, with limited choice (sigh). Completely devastated we arrived at our hostel at 11pm. Honestly, this was one of the worst tours I've ever done. Especially the price is unjustifiable, because actually all those activities were as good as free admission. The constant adjustment of the travel time by the guides was also downright frustrating. I wish to save everyone from having to experience this tour.

  • Terrible experience! Incorrect information, supports the capture of animals

Don't book a tour with Johnny Tours!!! Booked a tour to Mui Ne with Johnny Tours for my friends. In summary: going past coffee plantations where elephants, tigers, lions etc are kept captive on chains are not honest about the planning, guides who cannot explain places you visit lie to their customer. Nb: I did not go on this tour myself but I was a contact person between Johnny Tours and my friends. In Da Lat I booked a Mui Ne tour with Johnny Tours for my friends. Good reviews etc, so I thought, despite the distance of 3 hours drive, this will be fine. Upon arrival in Da Lat we were told that the roads were closed to Mui Ne and that the journey time would be 4-5 hours. I expressed my concerns to Johnny Tours about this, but Johnny assured me that he knew the roads well and that it would really only take 3 hours to get there. Given his specialism, I wish I had believed this. Also the guide, who came to pick up my friends at 8 am, assured that they would arrive in Mui Ne around 11 am. No reason to worry, then. Soon I was told by my friends that the guide had moved the arrival time to 12:00. This is because of a so-called “extra” stop at the coffee plantation. However, the coffee plantation was just included in the daily program at the time I booked the Tour. So this was already the first red flag. Once on the coffee plantation, my friends were shocked. Elephants and ostriches with saddles to ride, weasels, lions and tigers on chains. It was clear that this is not the place you want to go if you want to travel even remotely ethically. It's outrageous that Johnny Tours supports this animal suffering by sending tourists here! At this point my friends sent me that they got the idea that they had paid way too much money and were already worried about the rest of the tour. The tour was less than an hour in progress. I contacted Johnny about the later arrival time and the fact that my friends didn't like the fact that they had gone to a coffee plantation where animals were kept captive. Johnny, however, kept claiming that my friends were having a good time and it was all going according to plan. He tried to reinforce this by sending me pictures of the group where they were supposedly smiling and cheerfully pictured. After some back and forth, Johnny confirmed that the group was almost in Mui Ne around noon. I was reassured, because the delay seemed not so bad. At that moment my group sent that they were going to lunch somewhere first. This would cause even more delays because it was a different restaurant than planned due to roadblocks, because otherwise the group would get too hungry. This was without consultation and the arrival time until mui ne had become 13:00. The budget for the “inclusive” lunch was 100,000 VND per person. Most ordered something between 40,000 and 60,000 VND pp. After another later arrival time I decided to contact Johnny again. I indicated that both I and the group were dissatisfied and that we feel ripped off. A story with excuses later I decided to hang up, there was nothing to be done about it at the moment. Around 1:15 pm I was told by the group that they still had not arrived. I contacted Johnny again, who indicated for the umpteenth time that they were almost there. I got this message at 1:33 p.m. At 13:41 I received confirmation from my group that they had finally arrived. By now they had been on the road for more than 5 hours. After a long drive it was finally time to go quad biking in the sand dunes. The quad biking took about 15 minutes, ridiculous when you consider that you have been on the road for 5 hours. I got some pictures of Johnny, who kept claiming that the group was having a good time, but I knew better by now. Listening to me Johnny didn't do it anyway, I might as well have talked to a wall about our discontent. Moreover, Johnny later claimed that the group had arrived at 13:31, very handsome as he had indicated earlier at 13:33 that they were almost there. False information again. A visit to the fishing village was planned, but this was passed without explanation. Only when one of my friends mentioned this to the guides, they returned to this, but the guides could not answer questions about the fishing village. All they did the whole tour was try to take as many pictures as possible to make me believe that the group was having a good time. Moments later a walk through the fairy stream was planned. This was more like a walk through a sewer than a walk through a beautiful stream. I understand that due to the weather conditions (typhoon season, a lot of rain etc), little influence can be exerted on this. However, this does not make the tour better. At this point, the guides finally realized that the group was not satisfied and started apologizing. Johnny continued to claim that the group was really happy, but did offer a free dinner due to the road conditions. The group had already asked the guides themselves. It seems like a nice initiative, but of course this was just used with the leftover budget from lunch. It didn’t feel like a genuine gesture but decided not to say anything about it, because I didn’t want them to harm my friends anymore if I didn’t agree. By 11 pm the group finally arrived back in Da Lat tired, which is almost 2 hours later than the scheduled return time of 9 pm. The arrival time could have been later than 23 hours, but for the driver driving irresponsibly and quickly on his way back to make up for time. My friends felt unsafe, because the driver overtook in irresponsible places and drove like a maniac. Afterwards I contacted Johnny about the fact that we were extremely unhappy with the entire tour. Despite Johnny promising me beforehand that I should not worry, literally none of his reassurances have taken place. I also asked for a refund because of all the inconveniences. Johnny couldn't agree to this. However, he could give me a 50% discount on a subsequent group, as a token of the confidence I would give him and the company. Of course I don't agree and I would never book anything with Johnny Tours again. A refund remained impossible because everything was visited according to the program. When I indicated that this was not the case, because the schedule did not include all delays and therefore reduced the time on, for example, the quads, I received no answer. So far, no word from Johnny. In short, Johnny Tours is overpriced, spreads incorrect information and passes places that are not ethically responsible. Don't book your tour with Johnny Tours!!!

I've got mixed feelings on this trip as on one hand, it had some great experiences but there is no exploring a fishing village or stopping at a harbour! It was a pit stop, on the side of the road where we could see some fishing boats out at sea. The guides treated it more as a photo opportunity. They should revise the description for this part of the tour as it is very misleading and not true. The luxury sleeper bus was a fab new experience for us, and was an ideal way to start and end a full on day with a comfortable sleep on the way back in the dark. This was a huge plus for the tour. The quad biking over the white sand dunes was so much fun and I highly recommend you do this! You could walk down to the lake but nothing to do other than sit and relax post quad bike ride. The red sand dunes was nice, although you have a steep climb to the top. It was nice to sit and watch some of the sunset. The fairy stream was OK - personally, I could take or leave it as you're walking up a stream and then coming back on yourself. Nothing spectacular. However, the tour guides were fantastic! You're given a 15% discount card to use at two of the local restaurants for your lunch and dinner provided at the end was nice. They provided some free fruit and washing facilities to have a quick freshen up before eating, which was a nice touch.
