Explore Rohtas Fort in a day trip from Islamabad with licensed guide. The Rohtas Fort has the following 12 gates. All of them are built in ashlar stone.

Rohtas Fort

Built in 16th - century by Sher Shah Suri, "Rohtas Fortress" was built to suppress the local Gakhar tribes of then Potohar region during Mughal regime at sub-continent India. Excellent visit to Rohtas Fort - an unmissable stop when visiting Islamabad. I had Ghulam as my guide for a second day and again he took great care of me. We even had a really nice lunch on the way back from Rohtas, along with some of the best chai I have had on this trip.

Rohtas fort is an incredible sight. The structure is beautiful and offers great views of the surrounding landscape. My guide was knowledgeable and shared the history of the fort and how its usage changed while various peoples ruled the land it stands on. A great experience
