Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil
Hindus say Sri Muthumariamman Temple to this famous Matale Hindu Temple and also they believe Muthumariamman is the goddess for the rain. In the Tamil language, they say “Muthu” to pearls “Mari” to rain, and “Amman” to the goddess. Furthermore, Hindu people worship this goddess for prosperity. Hinduism came to Sri Lanka from India. Most of the time they located on the lands of English cultivators. English cultivators brought the Tamils from India to cultivate their lands. Matale Hindu Temple was built in 1874. Previously the land was a paddy field. After that, the owner donated this land to build the temple in 1852. In 1983 an ethnic conflict in the area severely damaged the temple.
Golden Temple of Dambulla
It is a UNESCO world heritage site. it is the caves and the statues and the 2100 sqm of murals inside the caves that are most significant and magnificent. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

We were picked up right on time at 6:55 AM by our guide and driver, Supun and the day started perfectly. Our first stop was the Matale Hindu Temple absolutely beautiful and peaceful. After that we visited a herbal garden where we enjoyed a relaxing head massage, which was truly superb and refreshing. Next, we explored the Dambulla Cave Temple once again, absolutely breathtaking. The caves and Buddha statues were fascinating, rich with history and beauty. We then stopped at a relaxing viewpoint to unwind and take in the surroundings. When we reached Sigiriya, there were two national parks to choose from. Our guide along with the Pro Escapes manager took the time to speak with park staff and gather the latest information to ensure we had the best experience. Based on their advice we chose Minneriya National Park and it was the perfect decision! We were lucky enough to witness over 200 elephants in their natural habitat an unforgettable and magical experience. Throughout the trip the team went above and beyond to give us the best possible service. As a thoughtful gesture our guide even treated us to fresh fruits from a roadside stall a small touch that made the experience even more special. This company and our guide truly made our entire week memorable. Their professionalism, care and dedication are highly appreciated. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a Kandy cultural tour combined with an elephant safari in one day! By the end of the trip we were already thinking about booking them again for a 4-day tour that’s how amazing the experience was!
