Enjoy this 2-hour guided adventure on a double-deck power catamaran to watch the whales in their natural habitat. Depending on the whales’ behavior during your whale watching trip, you may see the whales slapping the surface with pectoral fins (their very long side fins), flukes (the tail), the peduncle (the strong muscles attaching the tail to the rest of the body) and the breach, this is when the whale rises completely out of the water and crashes down again.

What To Expect
This double-deck power catamaran leaves from Ma'alaea Harbor and can bring you to the whales quickly. Juices and sodas are included, all kinds of drinks are available for purchase, and there are restrooms on board. The humpback whales return to Hawaii for a few months each year to mate and give birth. The trip takes you out to see for two hours, with a professional guide, these amazing animals from December to April.

5.00We saw whales! An escort rolled on his back and splashed both fins over and over! It was an amazing sight. The captain narrated and was very knowledgeable. The staff poured drinks and offered free snacks. Not all snacks are free. They had a ship photographer that took hundreds of photos and allowed us to buy a package that was quite affordable. This was an excellent experience!

5.00Great captain and staff. Price was cheaper than other tours I looked at. Free sodas and juice. Found the whales at the end of the season. Followed a mom and baby humpback for a while. Definitely recommend the Quicksilver!

5.00We knew we were late in the whale watching season so our expectations were low but we ended seeing a lot of Humpback Whales and the crew did a great job of getting us into a position to see and also hear them. The crew also came around and asked everyone if we needed anything throughout the cruise. We were very happy with this excursion.

5.00We were at the tail-end of the whale migration season and still saw 5 whales and some flying fish too. There were a group of 3 whales, a mom, calf and a male escort. We followed them for a while as they stayed on the surface. The tour boat crew dropped a microphone into the water so we were even able to hear the whales. It was a great and memorable experience!

5.00My husband and I took our 4 year old twins. Literally fun for everyone! Definitely need to pack snacks to bring aboard… we did early morning and I wish we brought some breakfast stuff. Coffee on board was awesome and the voice in the box was knowledgeable and fun!
