Departure from Rome for a full-day tour to Florence, the “Cradle of the Renaissance” and Pisa where you will see “Piazza dei Miracoli” with its famous Leaning Tower (external visit) and you will visit the Baptistery and the “Duomo”, all monuments in shining white marble. At 12 pm departure toward Florence, the legendary city of artists and architects from the 14th to 17th centuries. Stop for lunch. Around 2:30 pm meet with your professional guide for a walking tour of Florence, visit the masterpieces by Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo, including the famous David located inside at the “Accademia”. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its beautiful dome projected by Brunelleschi and admire the Baptistery as well as Giotto’s Bell Tower. The tour ends with a breathtaking view from “Piazzale Michelangelo”, a superb panoramic view of the Tuscan capital, including “Ponte Vecchio”, Arno River and the “Duomo”.

Piazza dei Miracoli
Enjoy the marvels inside the Piazza dei Miracoli, 4 monuments: The Baptistery (famous for its echo), the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Cemetery. Take a souvenir photo with the background of the leaning Toore that you are holding.
Battistero di San Giovanni
The Pisa Baptistery of St. John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Construction started in 1152 to replace an older baptistery, and when it was completed in 1363, it became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli. The shape of the building, the material used, the distribution of the interior spaces given by the columns and the space between the two domes make the Baptistery create an incredible effect of acoustic resonance, better known as Echo. The sound spreads throughout the space, like a continuous wave, rising in tonality to the point of suggesting the presence of an angelic choir. Every half hour the Baptistery staff performs a small demonstration for tourists: the effect is not to be missed.

4.00We joined a small group for this Florence and Pisa tour. Van was great and driver was good and professional. Our assistant as ahe called herself was friendly, social and presentable, was able to communicate the group in both English and Portuguese fluently. Stayce was our 'guide' in Pisa, gave us some information, not quite enough , about the Bell Tower, the baptistry and the cathedral. I was hoping for more information and history of the Pisa landmarks at least, since we never even get any information of towns and cities we passed along the way. Stayce was nice though to attend to our needs. We had good lunch in Florence. Giovanni was our local tour guide in Florence and he was excellent with history, about the duomo, the cathedral , the Galleria, the roman bridge. My husband and I enjoyed the information and our time immensely. For a small group like this, I expected more information from a true tour guide. I do not mind if the guide needed to talk bilingually( I know it is double work for the tour guide that way but necessary.) I would give 3 stars here for the great Florence tour , but my husband enjoyed the small group experience.
