Be prepared to commit about 19-20 hours to this day tour! Our driver picked us up at 4:45am (scheduled at 5am pickup, but he was prompt and early). The morning border crossing at Woodlands was smooth and took less than 15 minutes to get through. We picked up our guide after the Malaysia crossing, then made our way to Malacca for breakfast and then started our walking tour nearby. Next was a drive over to Putrajaya to visit the pink Mosque-though when we arrived they wouldn’t let us in because they were preparing for prayer. We were bummed because that was something we were looking forward to seeing inside. Our journey continued with a 2 hour drive to Kuala Lumpur…we stopped along the way for a toilet break at a gas station….Ladies (Americans especially) be prepared—some of the toilets in Malaysia are holes in the ground, so if you aren’t keen on that…make sure you ask your guide first. My mom had a difficult time with it and it’s something that she’ll never forget. Also, bring hand sanitizer and pocket tissues, as toilet paper isn’t always supplied in WC. Kuala Lumpur is crazy busy, it seems dirty and cars just pile up on the road without any regard to actual lanes-so if you get car sick and/or get anxiety with fast and chaotic driving, this isn’t the tour for you. Finally, Batu Caves…the steps are steep (but doable), there are wild macaque monkeys everywhere so keep valuables and food secure! I saw a couple of tourists get their juice boxes and food snatched right out of their hands while walking up the steps. I also didn’t notice any toilets here, but I imagine they wouldn’t be the cleanest considering how crowded and dirty the place is, just FYI. Also, we did our trip on a Friday…do yourself a favor and don’t do that. Friday has the worst traffic according to locals and heading back to Singapore was a complete traffic nightmare. We literally were in traffic for several HOURS! We did not get back to our hotel until 12:00am Midnight!! Now, the traffic and toilet situation were just unfortunate circumstances. And were in no way things that could be avoided. Our driver Chris was excellent. He drives a little fast, but he is safe and got us everywhere as quickly as he could, and the vehicle was comfortable. Shaun was our guide and he’s only been running these tours for 2 weeks, but he did a great job under the conditions. He taught us a lot, had an iPad with images that he could explain things prior to us visiting a place or monument. He had water for us, even paid for toilets when we had to go randomly. Overall I’m happy we did the tour, but for those of you on the fence about booking-I hope my disclosures will help you make the right choice.

Everything was smooth, definitely worth sacrificing one day in Singapore to see Malaysia in one day. We've seen quite a lot during the day, strongly recommend it.

Long day that hits many highlights. Very well organized and professional. We both thought it was one of the best tours we’ve done.

Driver was waiting for us just ahead of the time advised. Driver took us through Malaysia immigration seamlessly and we then picked up the tour guide. There were so many positives about the trip. Went to Malacca first and this was very interesting. We then had a lovely breakfast in the Hilton. We then went on to Putrajaya before heading to Kuala Lumpur. The roads were gridlocked with traffic and we missed a number of the sights. We didn’t go to the KLCC Park, but did get photos of the Petronas Towers from the roadside. The company really should have advised us that our tour was booked during a school holiday and the weekend traffic was beyond that expected. We had to get out and walk to Batu Caves as the cars were not moving. The traffic sadly caused us a lot of delays and missed opportunities. The guide did mention that weekend traffic can be bad, so please try and go on a weekday and research public holidays in Malaysia before booking. We had a lovely buffet lunch at the KL 360 Tower before we started to head back to Singapore. We left at 5pm and got back to our hotel after 1am. An 8 hour car journey 😩. Our poor driver was with us all day and had to drive back to Malaysia after dropping us off. He must have done a 24 hour day. We dropped the guide back off at his house on the way back to Singapore. The driver once again dealt with immigration and the queues were very long. I would 100% recommend this trip and would go again but with hindsight I would have gone on a weekday so I could have enjoyed all the sights. Driver Kreesh is a legend and our guide I thought he said Simon (but could be wrong) was lovely.

We were picked up on time from our hotel in a roomy and comfortable air conditioned car by our Malaysian driver. We had an easy trip across to Johor Bahru to pick up our English speaking guide. We made our way to Malacca and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast at the Hilton before taking a 1.5 hour walk around some UNESCO malacca sites. We had a 15 minute Trishaw ride in a fun Pokémon themed trishaw. We then went to Kuala Lumpur and saw some awesome sites such as Batu Caves, Sri Durgai Hindu Temple and lots of monkeys. We then saw Thean Hou Temple, Putra Mosque with its amazing pink granite domes, national monument, kings palace- where we witnessed the changing of the guards- Petronius twin towers, palace of justice, prime minister’s office, Merdeka Square, KL Tower and then we had an early dinner at the 360 degree revolving restaurant before our drive back to Singapore. Smooth process through the border crossings both ways. Our guide Iman was awesome. He treated us like VIPs all day, was so knowledgeable and fun to be with. He knew all the ways to avoid traffic jams and made our day run so smoothly. We saw so much and had so much fun. I would recommend this adventure to anyone with a day to spare during their Singapore trip. It is a long day, 5am pick up and 9pm drop off, but worth the time.
