The Roman theatre of Plovdiv (Latin: TEATRUM TRIMONTENSE) is one of the world's best-preserved ancient theaters, located in the city center of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It was constructed in the 90s of the 1st century AD, probably under the ruler ship of Emperor Domitian. The theater can host between 5000 and 7000 spectators and it is currently in use.

The wine portion of this tour was terrific! Bulgaria makes very good wines, and the host at the winery was friendly and knowledgeable. There needs to be better communication concerning the strenuous walking and hill climbing on this tour. Fortunately, our tour guide shared this with us on the drive to Plovdiv and was able to accommodate me by dropping me off at a plaza to sit in a café while my husband went on the tour.
