This private tour allows you to have an immersive journey through one of Sicily’s most extraordinary geological formations. Formed by ancient lava flows from Mount Etna and shaped over thousands of years by the icy waters of the Alcantara River, these gorges create a natural canyon unlike any other in Europe. Body rafting allows you to explore this hidden world from within, giving you access to narrow passages, vertical basalt walls, and hidden rock pools that can’t be reached by foot. Unlike traditional rafting, you are in direct contact with the river — floating, sliding, and swimming your way through nature’s masterpiece. At the end of the tour your Tour Leader will accompany you to traditional restaurant where you will have lunch based on Sicilian appetizers and Pasta alla Norma. Please note that for the Body Rafting activity there is an age limit of 60 years old.

Your tour leader will greet you directly at your accommodation, and together you’ll set off in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle towards the stunning Alcantara Park—ready to begin an unforgettable adventure immersed in nature.

After arriving to the base camp for the body rafting, you will meet your rafting instructor, who will help yougearing up with all the necessary equipment (included in the price). After a safety briefing, you’ll begin your descent into the narrow basalt canyons. Using only your body and the current, you’ll navigate through natural chutes, jump into pools, and experience the raw power of nature from a unique perspective. This activity is suitable for adventurous travelers looking for a fun, active, and refreshing experience during the Sicilian summer.

5.00Marco was a wonderful guide. Pickup and drop off were so easy! He was very knowledge about Sicily, local history and experiences. He took us to a wonderful traditional Sicilian restaurant for lunch. Amazing food, accommodating of allergies and wonderful people. We loved body rafting the gorge. Our guides Antonino and Sergio were so wonderful making sure everyone was comfortable and confident. Truly if you’re able to be active and like a bit of adventure don’t skip this. Beautiful sights, a little exhilaration and a lot of laughs.

5.00Marco was amazing! We had a private guide to take us to the beautiful gorges and then for a delicious meal and wine tasting. Marco was so knowledgeable, warm and fun to spend the day with. He really made it special. I would definitely recommend this once in a lifetime experience!

5.00We were a little apprehensive body rafting because we are both in our 50's but having done it... i would certainly recommend it. The instructors were very professional helping us navigate this incredible gorge. We felt safe and confident at all times. It was an exhilarating experience and I am so pleased we were able to do this. Marco was our guide/driver for the day. He was wonderful. Very engaging and informative. It was a pleasure to have met him. We had the most fantastic cheese and ham etc platter at Lido de Naxos. A very enjoyable excursion which I would highly recommend.

5.00We were the oldest people in the group by about 25 years, however due to the expertise of the guides we had a fantastic experience. Quick tip, If you dont want to run the risk of loosing your glasses, bring contact lenses. I forgot my c/lenses and felt a little bit vulnerable because I couldnt always see the edges of the rocks clearly but the instructors were very patient with me and I felt safe at all times. A fantastic, very organised experience.

5.00This is a very exciting tour. At the beginning I was a little afraid but our great guide explained everything to us and once in the water it was wonderful. Afterwards we went to eat in a typical Sicilian restaurant and I enjoyed real Sicilian cuisine. The dried tomatoes and cheeses were delicious. I recommend this tour, a mix of emotions and good food
