What To Expect
Get picked up from your hotel in Yogyakarta at midnight and travel in comfort to Dieng Plateau for roughly 3 hours. Ascend by foot for 30 minutes to the top of Sikunir Hill and enjoy the surrounding misty atmosphere while waiting for the most beautiful golden sunrise. Be rewarded by the panoramic view of up to 8 volcanoes from this vantage point (depending on weather conditions). From the top of Sikunir Hill, you will head to Batu Pandang Hill to enjoy the "Colourful Lake" from the top of the hill. Telaga Warna Lake, or ‘Colourful Lake’, contains water that can change in fluctuating colors. At times it can be green, purple, yellow or even taking the colors of the rainbow! This phenomenon occurs when the sun hits the water due to its high sulfur content. Continue your journey to the Sikidang Crater, an open sulphur crater filled with bubbling mud and constantly bellowing clouds of steam. You will feel like you’ve landed in another planet with the distinctly bumpy and dusty terrain surrounding the crater. Complete your tour with a visit to the Arjuna Temple complex, consisting of small Hindu temples showcasing Hindu architecture dating back to the 7th century.

5.00My daughter and I had an exellent day trip from Yogya to Dieng Plateau leaving Yogay early in the morning with our guide and driver Youss from Yoyga Tourism . Youss is very helpfull and friendly and has a great knowledge about Indonesien culture . Unfortunately it was clody at Dieng Plateau but Youss adjusted the plan and we visited hindu tempels and beautiful colored vulcanic crater lakes . We can highly recommend this day trip and Youss fra Yogya Tourism. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5.00My day with Arief, my driver and guide, offered an unexpected window into Javanese culture and Indonesian history. I was travelling solo, so it was just the two of us on the road. We left Yogyakarta early and drove toward the Dieng Plateau in hopes of catching the sunrise. The clouds had other plans, but Arief didn't let that set the tone. He adjusted the plan without fuss, filling the morning with small, thoughtful stops and conversations with locals. We walked around a nearby sulfur crater, its constant activity impossible to ignore, then visited Hindu temples scattered across the area. Arief shared the history of his country with enthusiasm, without turning it into a lecture, weaving facts together with stories and context. On the way back, he pulled over at a local Luwa coffee producer and insisted I try their coffee. It wasn't on the itinerary, but it felt like the right way to end the day. A long drive through lesser-visited places, shaped by Arief's attentiveness. I'd strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well-paced way to explore the area with someone who genuinely knows and cares about it.

5.00I didn't participate in the whole trip pike described. I wanted to start in the morning so the driver picked me up at 7am from my hotel. It took 3 hours to get to Dieng. Even though it was a rainy day the place looked amazing. We visited the sulfur place and the old hindu temple. The driver Ardhan is such a nice guy, firendly, professional and a good driver. I really enjoyed my time. We returned to Yogyakarta late in the evening and it was a nice day.

5.00We went on this trip with our driver Ardhan, and it was a blast. While the drive took 3-4 hours, he was very familiar with the roads and made the journey seamless. At the different locations, he provided background information and was happy to answer our questions, and even led us on alternate paths with lesser crowds. He also brought coffee for us which made the experience a lot better considering it was an overnight drive from Yogyakarta. All in all, a great experience with a great guide!

5.00A truly exceptional day. Our guide and driver Ardhan drove us safely to our destination at the Dieng plateau. He led us all the way up to a particular good viewpoint, where we were lucky enough to see a spectacular sunrise. Afterwards we were driven to Batu Pandang Hill with a great view, and to the open Sikidang sulphur crater. Before the return trip we also visited the Arjuna temple complex which is interesting because it is older than Borobudur. During all these experiences Ardhan enriched us with his knowledge of everything. Because of this and his great helpfulness throughout we have had an unforgettable trip.

5.00Yuni was a very nice guide! He spoke good English and told a lot about the area and gave a lot of background information, very nice. At sunrise he even brought two chairs and a gas burner to make coffee, really a top surprise!
