The unique geography of the Colchagua Valley, situated in the southern Rapel Valley, benefits from the cooling Pacific breezes and Andean winds. The valley is particularly known for its Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot varieties, while newer coastal plantations show promise for cool-climate white wines.

What To Expect

VINA VIK Winery

Begin your day at the VIK winery, located in the breathtaking Millahue Valley, known as the "Golden Place" by the indigenous Mapuche people. This estate spans 4,300 hectares of stunning Chilean wilderness, with 327 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The VIK terroir features 12 unique valleys, each with distinct microclimates and exposures, cooled by breezes from the Pacific and Andes mountains, offering complexity and variety. Under the guidance of Chief Winemaker Cristian Vallejo, VIK ensures meticulous viticulture and viniculture practices. Grapes are hand-harvested, and natural fermentation processes are used, with aging in a mix of new and used French oak barrels.

Savor a memorable lunch amid the vineyards at Finca de Apalta, crafted by renowned chef Francis Mallmann. Enjoy a selection of meats, fish, and vegetables cooked with various fire techniques in the restaurant's central dome. Pair your meal with an extensive selection of Montes wines and other Colchagua Valley offerings. Choose from the à la carte menu and pay for your lunch. We will handle the table reservation for you (lunch not included).

I have no words to thank Daniel! In addition to being a sympathy of Cover, super polite, he was extremely attentive from the 1st contact to the end of the tour! It was punctual and is a great driver, super prudent! The vehicle was very comfortable! Along the way, he gave several additional information about the region I was going to visit! He took care of all the details and everything went perfect! After all, it was the first time I used Viator and the experience could not have been better, thanks to him! And the wineries are amazing! Highlight for the guides Léo, da Montes, and Catalina, da Vik!! I RECOMMEND MORE!

My trip with Daniel was fantastic; seamless and perfectly planned and extremely comfortable. He took care of all the details and I had a phenomenal experience at both of the beautiful vineyards as well as an incredible lunch. Normally, I like to plan everything myself as I’m very particular but everything about this trip was perfect and excellent value.
