Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion
The Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion is an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Ethiopia. It is claimed to contain the Ark of the Covenant. It is located in the town of Axum, Tigray.
The Ruins of Aksum
The ruins of the ancient city of Aksum are found close to Ethiopia's northern border. They mark the location of the heart of ancient Ethiopia, when the Kingdom of Aksum was the most powerful state between the Eastern Roman Empire and Persia. The massive ruins, dating from between the 1st and the 13th century A.D., include monolithic obelisks, giant stelae, royal tombs and the ruins of ancient castles. Long after its political decline in the 10th century, Ethiopian emperors continued to be crowned in Aksum.

5.00I have a lot to say about the Axsumite Empire. It was very rich and interesting. The guide was well-informed and informed. In general the town of Axsum was authentic, clear, warm. There was something quirky about nature around.

5.00If you wish to see Axum in all its beauty please go on this tour. It was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget, being shown the history of the Axumite Kingdom, enjoying the coffee ritual, meeting friendly locals and trying local cuisine. This is a tour that should not be missed. I look forward to returning again soon.

5.00This was such an informative tour, travelling through Axum, learning about the local history and culture, experiencing coffee rituals, authentic cuisine, surrounded by friendly people and a tour guide who made the trip memorable, enjoyable and comfortable throughout. If you ever visit Axum make sure to go with this tour and enjoy your stay to the fullest. This trip has made me wish to return to Ethiopia very soon and stay longer during my visit. I couldn’t recommend it even more.
