World's First Oil Well

I'll show you the World's first industrially drilled oil well. You will travel to the past. The world’s first-ever mechanically drilled oil well (World’s First Oil Well) in 1846, located in the Bibi-Heybat settlement 10 kilometers west of Baku. The well produced the first gush of oil in 1847 and was just 21 meters deep at that time. On 26 April 2017, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) completed the reconstruction of this first oil well.

Yanardag Tour Route (Mount Fire – a natural hotbed burning for over 3000 years) , Ateshgah (Ancient Temple of Fire of the Zoroastrians, 17th century) , Mud Volcanoes Gobustan Rock Art Reserve. It lasted about 8 hours, but the crossings allowed time to rest. The car is comfortable. At each point along the route, an interesting and informative story with dates and historical facts. Hayal is a professional tour guide and an interesting interlocutor. I recommend it, A+.

In October 24 we stayed in Azerbaijan for a short vacation, we looked for a driver for some classic tours around Baku and contacted Khayal. It was a real luck, he organized the tours in a perfect way and proved to be an absolutely reliable driver and a very competent guide, as well as being a kind, courteous person and very attentive to the needs and desires of customers. We absolutely recommend it!!!

Had an amazing trip made even better with a 2 day road trip with Khayal to Sheki - we were two women on holiday and he made us feel safe, informed and kept us thoroughly entertained! Highly recommended if you need a local guide to share the love & knowledge of his country and the region as a whole. Very historically & geo-politically aware, educated, multi-lingual and culturally sensitive. Would love to come back and tour with Khayal again. Cheers!

We did multiple trips with Khayal and his extended references. Was cost effective, punctual and enjoyed by all members of my group. 75 years to 8 years. The guides were well educated and fluent in multiple languages Also no hidden cost’s anywhere. All in all recommended for nature, city and experiential tours for Azerbaijan.

With 2 friends we took this tour from Mr. Khayal. We really enjoyed his introduction. He is very informed about the city, its traditions, and culture. Even we had lunch together. He especially ordered a vegetarian menu for us from the tasty Azerbaijani cuisine. Except day trip we participated in the night tour too. I strongly advise his tour to everyone.

Last year together with family and colleagues, we joined a tour with Khayal’s guidance. We discovered new destinations and gems of Baku with his help. He is very punctual about timing and breaks, additionally, he is very informative about the history and traditions of Azerbaijan. I highly appreciated his tour and after this tour in my mind, Baku is a really different city with its past and history.
