The tour is amazing and customizable based on your interests. Tomio-san will make your experience of seeing these archaeological and historical specialties of Tsugaru special and memorable with his immense knowledge and passion of the history of the area. He worked in a massive array of historic spots to tour in one day- it's quite amazing how many we saw. If you have any interest in seeing the history and culture of Aomori, Tomio is the definitive guide of the area. He gives great recommendations to other activities and eateries as well, even outside the span of the tour. If you want to experience a totally different side of Japan alongside a true local expert, you won't regret booking this tour!

This is a good tour if you're really interested in prehistoric relics and/or Jomon history. For me, it was the perfect way to see the countryside of Aomori Prefecture and get to see the Takayama Inari Shrine (the absolute highlight). The guide, Tomio, was knowledgeable and helped tailor the tour to my interests. Definitely worth doing if you want to get out of the cities.

Had a smooth journey through Aomori exploring Japan's ancient Jomon sites, and it's hard to imagine the experience being as incredible without having Tomio as the guide. From the moment we met, his enthusiasm, knowledge, and dedication to making the tour memorable were evident. Tomio delved deep into the history of each location, providing context and insightful analysis that helped me to appreciate the sites we were seeing. He even allowed me to change up the itinerary so we could see more archeological sites than his original plan called for. There were a lot of items on our list, but he made visiting them all happen anyhow, and was able to do a solid job of unpacking what we were seeing in every case. If you're big into archeology I would recommend you review possible options with Tomio so you can switch more sites into your tour. In addition, he was able to assist me with hotel issues (called the place I was going to stay to confirm menu options), give great restaurant recommendations (be sure to try Aomori's curry milk butter ramen!), and provide suggestions for fun sightseeing spots elsewhere in Japan. Basically had an amazing time and cannot recommend Tomio highly enough!
