What To Expect
Major Marine Tours
This 7.5 Hour Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise departs daily at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 5:00 p.m. The cruise will travel approximately 130 miles roundtrip through Resurrection Bay into Kenai Fjords National Park. Since this cruise does go out into the open Gulf of Alaska it is not recommended for anyone who is prone to motion sickness. Our half-day Resurrection Bay cruises are much better options if motion sickness is a concern.

5.00It was a great wildlife tour, even with bad weather. They took us to as many areas for wildlife viewing as they could in difficult conditions. We saw some whales, puffins, sea lions, and kittywakes. The sea was too rough for the full day tour, so they refunded a portion on the price, charging us for the half day tour instead. We had the credit before we even returned to the dock, which was very impressive! It is a well staffed and run company. I highly recommend them for tours in the area.

5.00This was not a stress free tour but the views were fantastic. The trip was through very rough waters and since the boat was not very big it was a rough trip. Some people did get seasick a little. The creatures we saw and the views we saw made it worth the rough trip to get there. We saw otters, eagle, puffins, sea lions, seals and whales plus some others. The views of the glaciers and waterfalls were spectacular.

5.00I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to sign up for the 7.5 hr cruise but boy was I wrong! It flew by! We saw all sorts of marine and bird wildlife and the glaciers, WOW! The captain and crew were amazing. The information shared was delightful and respect for the wildlife was commendable. Would definitely recommend!

5.00My adult son and I went on the 7.5 hour cruise Sept. 8, 2025. It was a great experience. We saw sea lions, eagles, orcas, otters, puffins, seals and I believe 3 glaciers. The crew was pleasant and attentive to the participants. They had binoculars for us to use as most of the wildlife was not close to the boat and they tried to note and assist with wildlife and glacier sightings. We did see glacier calving also. Lunch was great and snacks and drinks were available.

5.00What a wonderful trip. The trip out of the harbor started with playful otters and bald eagles. Later we came on a small Orca pod and a few humpback whales. That was the first 90 minutes. The crew were very knowledgeable and very help full. At some point it was sandwich time - and they were very good and filling. The day flew by very quickly

5.00We took the 6 hour Kenai Fjords National Park tour on Sunday September 14. It was fantastic. Our Captain and crew were outstanding, the boat is comfortable with only short periods of slightly rough ride. We saw orcas and many other amazing wildlife and the views are amazing. Beautiful glaciers and landscapes. Yes it was chilly, ok sometimes cold, but we were dressed in layers and stayed outside on the ship all day. There are ample table seats inside as well with large windows to see things if you choose a warmer seat. The sandwich lunch was good and the ability to purchase other snacks and beverages on board is a major plus. This was absolutely well worth the time and expense. Also, we booked this tour and hotel stay through Major Marine. Being late season there were some hotel construction issues that impacted our stay but the staff was very good about accommodating our needs. This was an excellent experience.

4.00It was a really good experience and the crew is really good at their job. They are highly knowledgeable and answered whole lot of my questions. I could not see Humpback whales as the tour suggested as a possibility in its description. Apparently, there is no hope to see them in September. I wish that was mentioned in the description about best times to see different species. But we did see killer whales and a whole lot of them. We also saw a black bear, seals, otters, and ice calving which made the day memorable.
Do it! It was just wonderful.

5.00It was just wonderful. The weather came and went and no one cared. Intrepid travelers stayed outside the whole time. Lunch was great; more than we expected, especially the brownie! The glaciers calved, the orcas and stellar sea lions showed up, the running commentation was great, captain so helpful. It was fun watching them use nets to get our glacial ice on board for our glacier margaritas and the conga line. It was just a great day. Don't worry about the weather; the glaciers and animals don't.

5.00The ship is amazing: clean, comfortable and great food. The staff was excellent. We had the best day and were able to view all kinds of wildlife: a mountain goat, 2 different orca pods,harbor seals, Eagles, Sea otters, Puffins, Peregrine Falcon, sea stars and stellar sea lions. What an awesome day on the water. We booked this cruise after our other one was cancelled, so glad we did. Highly recommend this company. The captain and staff were top notch!
