What To Expect
Mount Etna
This Excursion takes you to the highest Volcano in Europe. We will explore the south side of mount Etna, on one of the most amazing paths that the volcano has to offer. We will also visit the most famous lower ancient craters (around 2000 mt) where we will walk along the rim of the old crater. It is also possibleto go to the top craters (around 3000 mt). We will have a picnic lunch near the crater. I will bring you back to your hotel shortly after lunch.

5.00We had a perfect day on the Etna thanks to Giuseppe who picked us up from Siracusa and brought us hiking to beautiful places on the mountain. His knowledge of the mountain comes from years of experience and respect for the land. With his guidance the mountain becomes more then a landscape-it becomes a story.

5.002 hours walk on Mount Edna, about 6 km total. The guide, Guiseppe, is speaking well in English, and told live about Edna's history with many eruptions, geology, types of lava, ash, and vegetation. We saw large craters, plateau, and views all out to the coast. Guiseppe knows Edna and knows where the best view is, no matter what the weather is. It was an exciting trip and it wasn’t too challenging, just remember walking shoes and jacket. That was exactly what we expected. It was a really good experience.

5.00This trip was a life time amazing experience for us. We never been to such a volcanic trip where you can see a unique flora and a huge bed of volcanic rocks created by magma. Walking and running on volcanic sand was thrilling and fun 😊

The hike along the Donkey's Back trail was a vigorous one with breathtaking views of crators and the valley with the lava flows. Giuseppe pointed out the different formations that the lava created along with the plants and animals we saw along the way. We had a fantastic visit to Mt. Etna. Thank you!

You were very knowledgeable about the history and geography of Etna and you shared some very interesting facts about the area whilst we walked up the slopes. You also shared some fascinating information about the flora and fauna, pointing out plants, flowers and even caterpillar nests in the trees.
