This was an all day trip. We visited an animal sanctuary, had a look at some beautiful country, had a stop for dinner (on your own), and then on to the penguin parade. Our guide was a riot, very friendly informative, and he really knows about Australia. If there was any downside, it was not enough time at each stop, but I wouldn’t have wanted to skip anything we did!

  • Good but parade was underwhelming

Overall, the experience was good and we enjoyed seeing a butch of different animals. Surprisingly, the moonlit sanctuary was the highlight since we were able to get close to and even pet kangaroos. The penguin parade was underwhelming and a little bit of a disappointment as we only saw a relatively few (maybe 20 or 30) leave the water and you sit so far away that these small (less than a foot tall) animals are difficult to see. The only redeeming part of the parade is that you can see them along the boardwalk that leads to the beach but the crowds make it hard to enjoy.
