Enjoyable day outside of busy Sydney. Appreciated the quick entry to Sydney Zoo, and Leura is a charming stop on the way to the mountains.

Unfortunately the prime purpose of the day was the Penguin Parade but what they fail to tell you is that at this time of year very few come on the beach so make sure you go at the right time of year. Fortunately this did not spoil the day as we did see some at the side of the boardwalks. We stopped at Moonlit Sanctuary which was wonderful and saw lots of animals. Phillip Island itself is gorgeous and well worth a visit

You have to pay extra if you want to see penguins coming out of the ocean. General admission buyers saw only 6 of the 310 that came out.

Long day, filled with activities. Nice stop for dinner, need at least one hour not just 45 mins. Take a jacket for the evening.

We had high hopes to see the penguin parade but due to molting season only 20 came out of the water .. not the 100s everyone advertises. Estimated 1,000 paying guests left disappointed .. maybe they should rethink this during this time of year. Not our drivers fault... he was great.
