Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge
Around 250 years ago fishermen erected Carrick-a-reed rope bridge for the purpose of fishing for Atlantic salmon. This was a flourishing industry at the time and in any one day there may have been catches of up to 350 fish. However by 2002 you would be lucky to catch the same amount in a whole season. It is no longer used by fishermen during the salmon season. The bridge spans just over 20 metres across and 30 meters ( over 100 feet) above sea level. This can be quite daunting for some visitors and on a few occasions there have been people who can't make it back across and have had to be taken by boat back to the mainland. So come and have a look for yourself.

Jackie is the best tour guide. So knowledgeable about Northern Ireland and each site on this tour. All of the Game of Thrones sites are great to visit. Don’t miss Giants Causewsy!

We anticipated this trip for several months and it didn't disappoint! Michael was an EXCEPTIONAL tour guide and we had the BEST DAY! Giant's Causeway, the rope bridge, the castle, seeing where parts of Game of Thrones was filmed to Carrick-a-Rede views, were all just magical! Lots of laughs and smiles along the way. What an amazing tour and what an amazing country! Cannot wait to visit again!

Wow! We had the best day and saw so many beautiful sites. Giants Causeway was a highlight for me. The countryside and coastal views were breathtaking and we had lots of stops to take photos. But the best part… we laughed along every step of the way with Michael and Joe!

Exceptional tour and guide!! The guide, Jimmie met us in the area where a bunch of guides were meeting people; he had separated from the group of guides enough that we saw our name placard clearly before we got close to him. His vehicle was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Jimmie had snacks and water for us; he knew where all the good clean bathrooms were along the route to the causeway. Jimmie was also knowledgeable about the sites along the route and answered our historical questions. We had taken this same tour in 2014 via a cruise excursion and this private tour was vastly superior to that tour. Since this was a private tour, we were able to stop at more sites and see more of Ireland's beauty. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a great day!!! Larry, Karen, Pat and John

Our tour guide Mick was the absolute best! He had us engaged and laughing from the moment we met him to the moment we finally pulled ourselves away at the end of the tour. He gave us any and all options of stops based on our wants. The van was clean and spacious. We have been traveling for 7 days and I can honestly say this was the best tour so far, our cheeks hurt from all the laughter!!

It was a beautiful day and the sun was out. The views were amazing. Tony was a great tour guide with much knowledge about the area. He did all that we asked of him and even went above and beyond. We highly recommend!
