It is a unique experience in the Salto de La Jalda National Park. We will travel about 7 kilometers, passing through forests of cocoa, coconut and coffee. On our entire trip, we will pass close to the Magua River and cross it about 8 times.
Almost the entire trail is shaded thanks to a large amount of cocoa forest planted before the area was declared Salto de La Jalda National Park. In this first part of the ecotourism adventure, you will be able to enjoy the song of the birds, the sound of the water currents, the mostly flat terrain and all the green vegetation.
Almost reaching the waterfall we pass by the house of the park rangers of the Jalda National Park. There you can take a short break, from where you can generally see a spectacular view of the Salto de La Jalda.
We will continue to the waterfalls, there you can swim and rest or take photos before heading back along the same path.

The highest jump in the Caribbean with 120 meters of drop, a very nice route between cocoa plantations, rivers and jungle, for trekking or backpacking, difficulty drops like 2 hours or less one way, for those who camp one stays in the park ranger's hut (prepare for mosquitoes), from there you continue about 15 min. to this beautiful and great jump, where you can take a cool swim. From Santo Domingo it is 2.5 hours driving until the start of the route. An excellent excursion.
