YehLiu Geopark
Yehliu is a cape on Taiwan’s northern coast best known for Yehliu Geopark, where sea erosion has shaped honeycomb and mushroom rocks such as the iconic Queen’s Head and Dragon’s Head. The area is mostly flat but offers little shade, so sun protection is advised during summer.
Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street)
Feel transported to this former gold-mining mountain town—once built by the Japanese and now a maze of history-rich lanes and alleys. Most of the charming streets are stairways lined with snack stalls and teahouses, and they can get quite crowded. (Tip: If you’d like to experience Jiufen at sunset or dusk, book a departure after 11:00 AM. This will make Jiufen the final stop, giving you time to enjoy the sunset views and evening lights.)

We had a great day on our tour with Jack. He was an excellent guide - he had a wealth of knowledge about the sights we saw as well as Taiwan as a whole. We would recommend this tour if you’re interested to see this area of Taiwan.

◆Good mood from Thai Airways Get off and head to the immigration counter. The long queue finally gave me my turn. Right before, there was a group of four young women. I wonder what country it is. It didn't seem like Japan. One by one, they told me, and I followed them. One person finishes and the next gets stuck. All three seemed to fail. One person who passed by was kept waiting outside. It was my turn to tell you that I hadn't received my electronic application. So he asked me to type it on my phone. ◆ There is a QR code on the wall I read it on my smartphone and type it in, but it's really hard to do. The most deadly is that the screen freezes completely white. The wifi is too slow. Two-step verification. This would be nice to have two smartphones in a calm place, but can you instantly remember a six-digit number? You want me to do a passport scan in the first place? I thought the attendants were going to check it closely. They'll have equipment to read scanners and IC chips. And standing, passport scanning, it's too difficult. He is instructed to start over. The ceiling lights hit my passport and I was glittering and extremely sick. And when I was doing that, I got an error and I was told to check it. I don't know what's wrong, so I catch a female attendant walking by and ask her. If I don't understand Japanese, I'll get cold returns. To begin with, people from Chinese-speaking countries should understand about half of Japanese. Then at least remember the errors you make in the field. They keep asking me about my country, my address, my phone number. And there are probably more than 100 countries, so it's very stressful to find them. Can't we at least do ABC analysis to sort them in order of number of arrivals? And it says my passport has expired. If my passport has expired, how can I get here? Then, after many revisions, it froze and I was told to wait a little longer before applying. Is there ever such an insult? Shouldn't we at least have a desk, chair, and usher deployed if we're going to let them type? My grandmother had three smartphones, so I managed to do it with something that worked. ◆ As a principle of office work Major retailers manage to scan barcodes at the checkout counter on a central server to ensure which items sell and how many are not out of stock. In the past, data was put out on paper and input to report it to the central office. When primary information is processed by human hands, mistakes are always made in the numbers, and serious accidents can occur. Don't let customers enter what's on their passports. ◆Airplane flight number Enter symbols and numbers separately. If you look at the ticket, it would be letters and three digits. If you put it in, you get an error. Isn't information about arrivals coming from airlines in the first place? On the screen you have completed, when you receive an email. I passed this through before I checked, but the email arrived too late. ◆Measures for improvement What does immigration want to know in the first place? 1 Address 2 Occupation 3 telephone number 4 Email address 5 How long will you stay 6The address during your stay is: 7 Return flight number It's good to hear this much. People who can't do it for hours at a counter might not travel abroad, but in these cases, I'd like to consider setting up a desk and letting them write on paper. Electronic applications are also a huge embarrassment for us as the world's biggest semiconductor power. It's probably a job to weed out some of the unscrupulous, but it shouldn't hurt the majority of serious visitors. I hope it improves.

Great day trip with fascinating sights and towns. I loved the limestone formations. Sending my wish lantern to the sky was very cool.

We had a great experience with Chuly our guide. She had great energy, enthusiasm and was very knowledgeable about the history of the country. She took us to off the beaten path to avoid crowds and to a fabulous hidden old tea house with a view and we had a delicious lunch.
