Ditch the crowded snorkel cattle-boats. This is St. John the way locals see it—crystal bays where sea turtles cruise past like celebrities, reefs that look like Skittles exploded underwater, and secret spots your captain's been hoarding for decades.
We're talking aquarium on steroids. Parrotfish chomping coral, eagle rays doing their graceful glide thing, and enough sergeant majors to start their own army.
Your captain isn't just steering—they're your reef translator, treasure map keeper, and official "yes-that's-definitely-a-barracuda" confirmer.
Unlike rushed St. Thomas day trips, we let you actually enjoy it. Multiple snorkel stops. Hidden beaches where rental cars can't reach. Water so clear you'll accuse us of Photoshop.

Let's be honest: St John boat charters hit different. Maybe it's because 70% of the island belongs to the Virgin Islands National Park—nature's VIP section. Maybe it's the beaches so pristine they look Photoshopped. Or maybe it's what you can't see from the road that makes your hearts race. Sure, north shore beaches welcome taxis and rental cars, but the real magic? That's where landlubbers can't go. Our St John excursions take you to the secret stuff—hidden coves, remote reefs, and snorkel spots that'll ruin you for every other underwater experience. Prepare for sensory overload: coral gardens, fish in colors that don't exist in Crayola boxes, and an underwater soundtrack of clicks and pops as the seabed pulses with life. Your Captains don't just know where to go—they know where nature shows off. Your Perfect Day, Your Way Tip: Talk to your Captain about your perfect day... Pick one side of the island and own it. Settle into a bay, soak up the vibe, then hop to your next adventure.

I am beyond disappointed with the experience we had and feel obligated to warn others about the behavior we witnessed from another captain on the water. While returning through a clearly marked no-wake zone, Captain Valci operated his vessel recklessly by speeding through the area with complete disregard for passenger safety and boating regulations. Our captain, Brandon, professionally and calmly asked him to slow down, but instead of handling the situation respectfully, Valci became aggressive and confrontational once we arrived at the dock in St. John. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that this confrontation happened publicly in front of passengers and bystanders. Brandon and our first mate, Heather, attempted to handle the situation professionally, but Valci escalated things unnecessarily and caused a scene at the dock. To make matters worse, shortly after returning to St. Thomas, Valci was seen standing at the bar with a beer in his hand immediately after operating the vessel. Whether technically allowed or not, it showed extremely poor judgment from someone responsible for transporting passengers safely on the water. Overall, it was one of the most unprofessional and concerning boating experiences I have ever witnessed. Reckless operation in a no-wake zone, aggressive behavior at the dock, and the lack of professionalism afterward completely destroyed any confidence I would have in recommending your services. I sincerely hope this complaint is taken seriously before someone gets hurt or a more serious incident occurs.

Amy was absolutely incredible with her helpful knowledge of local amenities and goes above and beyond for clients. I would strongly recommend utilizing seahorse water taxi as a solo traveler- five stars all around!

Seahorse was exceptional! We booked them for multiple items: taxis to/from airport; water taxi round trip from Red Hook to West End, Tortola and also a private day trip snorkeling around St John. Alex was our captain for water taxi and we are so glad we had him! First the boat ride was beautiful. But second he took care of all the immigration stuff for us all while avoiding the ferry’s! Valekai was our day trip captain around St John. He made sure we hit all the beautiful spots for beginning to advanced snorkeling and even made sure we were taken care for lunch at Lovango which is a must. He was a fun captain and our group loved him! Amy in the office kept us updated and organized pre trip and during the trip with multiple points of communication. Was never a worry with our long schedule with them . We 100% will book them again when we head can to the VI’s!
