This all-day excursion takes you for a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi Coast to the picturesque hillside town of Positano (with 1 hour free time to explore on your own), then to serene Sorrento (where you'll have 1 hour free time to explore on your own), and before going back to Naples' port to the evocative ruins of Pompeii for a two-hour guided tour before returning to your ship.

What To Expect
Last stop: Pompeii. Pompeii is the most stunning archaeological site on the Italian Peninsula and one of the most visited. The ruins of Pompeii are an open air museum where visitors can go back in time and discover a city that had been buried in ashes until 1748. Visitors experience the city much as it existed more than 2000 years ago.
Second stop on the tour will be Sorrento (with 1 hour free time to explore on your own). Removed to the south of the upbeat urban tempos of Naples extends the Peninsula of Sorrento. This is a land where the scent of citrus fills the air and where grape vines follow the steep terrain to the edge of the sea. Breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri await you behind every bend in the road that leads you along this spectacular coast.

5.00We loved every element. Pickup was prompt and well orchestrated. Our guide, Mary, was effervescent without being silly or overly loud. She was very experienced and well prepared for this itinerary. We nicknamed her our Italian Everready Bunny. Our Driver, Dominic, was fantastic and provided a bit of comic relief in trying to help us translate Italian to English. The is also a great DJ for playlist of music as we were on the last leg from Pompei to port. The tours of all three places were just right for time spent and information provided. We HIGHLY recommend this activity but beware of extreme walking distances and terrain. Mary was terrific in explaining and providing alternative routes and waiting areas for those not able to take full length walk. Pompei was especially challenging for several of our tour members due to extreme cobblestone paths and elevation changes. FYI we took approximately 14,000 steps for the day. Ciao!
