This all-day excursion takes you for a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi Coast to the picturesque hillside town of Positano (with 1 hour free time to explore on your own), then to serene Sorrento (where you'll have 1 hour free time to explore on your own), and before going back to Naples' port to the evocative ruins of Pompeii for a two-hour guided tour before returning to your ship.

What To Expect
Last stop: Pompeii. Pompeii is the most stunning archaeological site on the Italian Peninsula and one of the most visited. The ruins of Pompeii are an open air museum where visitors can go back in time and discover a city that had been buried in ashes until 1748. Visitors experience the city much as it existed more than 2000 years ago.
Second stop on the tour will be Sorrento (with 1 hour free time to explore on your own). Removed to the south of the upbeat urban tempos of Naples extends the Peninsula of Sorrento. This is a land where the scent of citrus fills the air and where grape vines follow the steep terrain to the edge of the sea. Breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri await you behind every bend in the road that leads you along this spectacular coast.

5.00Our tour fulfilled all of our wishes and more!! Mary was an amazing tour guide, sharing history on the drive and showing us all over Pompei. Our driver, Dominico, was superb at chauffeuring us around the windy hills of the Amalfi Coast. We started at Positano and spent an hour shopping, next stopped at Sorrento and had a delicious lunch, then ended with a 2hr tour of Pompei. The pair was perfection!! Highly recommend!

4.00This tour is not for people who want to spend time in Amalfai coast area. We only had one hour in positano . 2 hours in sorrento where there is not much to do . 2 hours in Pompeii only if you are deeply interested in history. I would rather take a taxi to Amalfai and spend time on the beach and just take in the view. Trip is too expensive to just sit in car and keep driving . We couldn’t even stop in between to take pictures.

1.00Terrible experience. Taxi driver(he told us he was not a guide) was not holding up a sign with name as was indicated on text messages. We had 3 different groups, instead he called us on his phone. Went to first stop, had to tell him we did not need 2 hours, then he dropped a pin for the pick up location, which was confusing. Then driving to Sorrento the driver hit an object on the side of the road, and got a flat tire. We sat at the side of a dangerous rode for over 1 hour, waiting for another taxi. No air conditioning on the side of a road. New taxi picks up up, we had less than 30 minutes in Sorrento, and the new taxi driver directed us to a restaurant that was closed. Driver fixed his tire, and then picked us up in Sorrento. We wanted to skip Sorrento, as we lost so much time, and go to Pompeii. We were told no, because we did not have a guide until 2:30 PM. Arrive in Pompeii, there were 8 to our group. In the description of the tour in specifically sates that Driver and English speaking guide in Pompeii for groups of 6-8 people. We were put in a group of 24 people, when we question that with the guide, he told us he was an employee, and talk to the company. He called the company and handed one of the person in our group the phone, he could not hear what the person was saying. When we questioned the guide on the timing he told us a 1 hour tour, information shows 2 hour in the description. When we question that, same information, he is an employee. On the tour, when we were concerned about missing the ship departure time, the guide kept telling us that is was now a 2 hour tour, as that what the company told him to do. The group of 8 was concerned as we had limited confidence in the driver to get us back safely. We finally left the tour at 4:20 and headed out of Pompeii to the taxi. We then haded to the port, the driver took us to the incorrect ship first, he took us to Viking, then MSC, we told him to return us to where he picked us up, which was Celebrity Ascent. We finally arrived to the ship, but with more stress in a day, and many empty promises, and a terrible experience. Do not book with Mondo Guide, they are not truthful.

1.00Terrible experience that ruined the last day of an otherwise great cruise. Biggest issue: between Positano and Sorrento the driver hit the side of the mountain and blew out a tire. It was loud and scary. My family spent about an hour and a half out of the van on the side of a dangerous road. The driver told us he was actually a taxi driver. The van was old and uncomfortable. There were 9 people stuffed into it. After the tire blow out, and waiting on the side of the dangerous road, another van came and got us. It was much nicer and more comfortable. That driver said he already had a group that was touring in Sorrento and was taking us there to drop us off. We told him we needed to be back at our cruise ship by 5 pm. He told us that wasn't correct and the ships never leave people. The tour is supposed to include time in Sorrento. We had 25 minutes there. We had not had lunch and needed restroom time. The new driver told us to go to specific restaurant for restrooms. It was closed. We had to find a restroom and wolf down lunch in the remaining 20 minutes. The first driver then showed up with a spare tire on the first van and took us to Pompeii. We asked him about the problems with the tour he said he is just an "employee of the company." The description says the Pompeii tour is with a guide and "groups of 6-8 people." When we got there it was a large group. I asked the guide about the 6-8 people and he told me he is just an "employee of the company" and made a call on his cell phone. He handed me the phone and told me to talk to the company. I could not hear anybody. He then said the group would be smaller groups once we got inside Pompeii. It was not and ended up being 24 people. We were stressed about getting to our ship on time. The guide literally refused to tell us how to exit Pompeii so we could leave. The driver first returned to the wrong ship. We barely made it to our ship on time. Extremely stressful day.

5.00Andrea and his side kick Dominico aka Spider-Man are the best tour guide and driver “in the world”! The tour was great. Very organized, great communication pre and post tour. There was a non-English speaking person on the tour with us, I noticed Andrea would speak to her in Spanish so she wasn’t missing out on any information, he is absolutely amazing! Great tour, fun guide, highly recommend!
