Last stop: Pompeii. Pompeii is the most stunning archaeological site on the Italian Peninsula and one of the most visited. The ruins of Pompeii are an open air museum where visitors can go back in time and discover a city that had been buried in ashes until 1748. Visitors experience the city much as it existed more than 2000 years ago.
Second stop on the tour will be Sorrento (with 1 hour free time to explore on your own). Removed to the south of the upbeat urban tempos of Naples extends the Peninsula of Sorrento. This is a land where the scent of citrus fills the air and where grape vines follow the steep terrain to the edge of the sea. Breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri await you behind every bend in the road that leads you along this spectacular coast.

It was a really full day. Going on the Amalfi coast to Positano and Sorrento was a beautiful drive and the towns were picturesque and interesting. But so much time was spent driving, we didn't have much time in Pompeii. If people really want to spend a lot of time in Pompeii, they should probably skip the coastal towns. Pompeii is a very large area to cover and the huge crowds make it difficult to cover a lot of ground fast. The guide was very pleasant and very knowledgeable, but I would have preferred she call us her friends rather than her "babies!" Finally, I must have missed it when booking this tour, that this was to be a shared tour. My group of six was expecting a private van and learned on arrival that we were sharing a bus with 14 others!

This was an excellent shore excursion from our cruise! The driver, Pietro, and guide, Vincenzo, made everything completely stress-free with smooth, on-time pickup and drop-off at the port. We had a beautiful day exploring the highlights of the area with the perfect mix of history, stunning scenery, shopping, food, and wine. The tour was well organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend for cruise passengers looking to make the most of their day in port!

The best experience we could have hoped for! We would do it all over again. Very personable and informative. Picked up and left off promptly by a lovely air conditioned mini bus. Thank you Ciro and Genaro for an amazing day in Positano, Sorento, Amalfi Coast and Pompei. A+++

Given the crowds and the time it takes to see everything, it made some of the stops seem rushed. This is just a function of the crowds in the area and the distance to some of the sites. When we got to Pompei, our guide went too slow for me. I think she was trying to accommodate some of the older individuals in our group. We should have just explored the site on our own and met her at the end. We would have seen more.

The tour guide can really make the tour an awesome experience!! Paola went over and beyond to make our tour the best! Also, our bus driver, Sergio, was an expert at navigating through some tense traffic moments!!

There were so many people that it made it difficult to relax to spend time eating and sightseeing. Maybe have one less place to go to allow for it not to be rushed

We loved Alphonso-he was charming and very knowledgeable! We also loved the female guide for Pompeii he found for us, who was wonderful with the kids. Be wary of the curves on the drive if you get carsick. There was not a ton of time in Positano or Sorrento, but fine for us as we just wanted to see what they were about (mostly shopping). If you eat in Pompeii, be sure to bring cash as the restaurant we were taken to does not accept credit card.
