San Carlos de Bariloche
The walk from Bariloche to San Martín de los Andes is one of the most important excursions that tourists can perform. San Carlos de Bariloche (commonly called Bariloche) is a city in the Patagonia region of Argentina. It borders Nahuel Huapi, a large glacial lake surrounded by mountains in the Andes. Bariloche is known for its Swiss alpine-style architecture and its chocolate, which is sold in shops on Miter Street, the main avenue. It is also a popular base for hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains, and for exploring the surroundings of the Lake District.

Located in the northern sector of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, surrounded by lakes, forests and mountains, it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Andean Patagonia, earning itself the nickname of "Garden of Patagonia". A few kilometers away is the border crossing with Chile, Cardenal Samoré, and together with other nearby towns, such as San Carlos de Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes, make up a tourist corridor of great popularity both in the summer and winter seasons.
