Today you will travel with me to the best hot springs in Mexico in the state of Hidalgo and for what travelers from many other places say, 8 kilometers of thermal river, natural grottos, waterfalls, incredible landscapes and the best pools for your photos of instagram, tiktok, etc.
Always accompanied by an experienced guide and driver, we have been doing this experience for 5 years, you will not regret it!

What To Expect
We will visit the Grutas de Tolantongo park, which is divided into 2 sections, in the first the natural area which consists of: thermal river, steam tunnel, waterfall and cave, in the other section we will find the famous pocitas or (hot springs) , suspension bridge, tunnel with jacuzzi and the famous zip line. The journey to the park is 4 hours one way, 4 hours back

5.00Elias our driver and guide was very patient and updated us on the status and very timely. The reservation was made at the last minute and pick up and timing was perfect. This is long drive 3-4 hours in a standard 6 seater SUV. I would recommend carrying a neck pillow plus bathroom paper just in case, as some of toilets can be rustic. Was quite tiring but worth the travel time. The Tolantongo caves - the final stop of the trip by far exceeded my expectations. A must do trip if you have the luxury of time in Mexico City!

5.00The tour with Elias was amazing! The ride to the destination was very professional and filled with interesting facts about the towns. We stopped for barbacoa tacos that were amazing. At the grutas Elias gave us generous amount of times to experience different activities on our own. I highly recommend booking with Elias.

5.00Elias was a wonderful tour guide!! He picked us up and we were off to the Hot Springs. The whole experience was amazing, my favorite part was how he was so personable and kind. The hot springs and river are incredible not to mention the views. We stopped at a local place to have tacos de barbacoa for bkfst. Then after the hot springs we stopped to have a Mexican take on an empanada. We would highly recommend booking this tour with him.

5.00It is a distant trip from the city but it is completely worth the tour with Elijah as he was very attentive and patient, provided many recommendations and was always watching over us, allowing us to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Make rating that you cannot carry water in plastic bottles but in thermos.

5.00Tolantongo is definitely a hidden gem!!!! Our tour guide Elias made our experience a truly pleasant one. He pointed out different historical sites on our way there, he was puntual, friendly and a joy to have as a guide! We would LOVE to get him as our guide on our next trip! I’d give our experience 10 stars if I could!!

5.00Had an amazing day with Elias and Johana guiding our group! They truly are locals that have enjoyed Tolantongo over the years and were proud to share the experience with us visitors. They gave us so much history and information of the place and made sure we were adequately prepared to enter and enjoy the springs, tunnel, grotto and river. The ride was comfortable for the 4 of us and they were also amazing enough to make a few stops so we can enjoy the local drinks and snacks. Overall, could not recommend this tour with them enough and glad to leave with them as our new friends.

5.00We had the best time. Elias was an amazing host who took the time to show us some hidden gems around the massive park and also a very decently priced restaurant at the park too. We not only went to the natural hot springs that probably drew you to booking this, but also some hidden caves and natural saunas. And more amazing pools where it was very quiet and serene. Also don’t be put off by the fact that it’s rainy season - just means it is quieter as it tends to have rained in the evening! I really recommend booking with him!
