Grasse
Driving to our first experience: Grace Village. Start your tour by visiting Grasse, listed in November 2018 on the list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" adopted by "UNESCO", for its know-how linked to the perfume industry. Stroll through the old streets of Grasse known for the workshops of the tannery industry in the Middle Ages. Then treat yourself to a visit to the historic "FRAGONARD" factory, one of the 60 companies that manufacture fragrances and essences, to understand the process of changing flowers into perfume. The rare flowers of the Pays de Grasse (lavender, myrtle, jasmine, rose, wild orange blossom, mimosa) make Grasse the world capital of perfume.
Gourdon
After this fragrant break, head for this small village "GOURDON" perched at 758 meters, between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, discover this medieval fortress and its beautiful castle built in the 8th century by the SARAZINS. Discern the strategic advantages, (the control of all "the valley of the wolf", the Mediterranean coast and the access to the Alps), to understand the fight for the control of this fortress, between the medieval powers until the German armies during the World War II.

We spend two weeks touring France, and the Medieval Villages Tour was the highlight of our experience. Our guide Nadil was excellent, as was the rich history of the villages we visited. They were beautiful, intriguing, and entertaining. I own a tour company in Colorado guiding tours through Rocky Mountain National Park. I know what guests want to experience. This tour provided exactly what we had hoped for, and Nadil was personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Nabil was so knowledgeable; anyone could see that history is his passion. But he accommodated every tour members’ knowledge or lack thereof. I am one of the latter and gained so much insight into the history of southern France and its links to the whole of Europe. Many thanks again

This tour was absolutely fantastic!! Our guide, Nabil, was extremely knowledgeable and when a couple of curve balls were thrown up due to the Union strike he was able to manage the situation extremely well. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip and I would tour with this company again. 10/10 Nabil - Merci beaucoup!!!

Probably one too many stops for the itinerary or too long in some places and not enough in others. The guide was more like a lecturer. Obviously knowledgable but I felt like I was going to be tested later. Lunch stop was a questionable stop. A very small village with only 2 restaurants where we were told " there's probably not time to order lunch. Check how long your meal will take before ordering." I became lost in one place and was talking on the phone to the guide. Just as I told him I could see the car started driving away. With only 7 on the tour, I was surprised that they started driving away before the agreed time and before I was on board in 2 of the next 3 destinations. Not super happy with the whole experience which I think was also quite expensive
