Kiyomizu-dera Temple
One of the most iconic features of Kiyomizu-dera is its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, offering panoramic views of the cherry and maple trees below, as well as the city of Kyoto. The stage is supported by hundreds of wooden pillars, constructed without the use of nails—a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The temple complex also includes the Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking. Visitors can try to walk between two stones with their eyes closed—if successful, it is said they will find true love. Kiyomizu-dera is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is especially popular during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. The temple's architecture, natural surroundings, and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination in Japan.
Sannenzaka Ninenzaka
Explore Kyoto’s timeless beauty by strolling through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two historic lanes leading to the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. These stone-paved streets, lined with traditional wooden shops and teahouses, offer a glimpse into Japan's Edo period. Capture the stunning view of the five-story Yasaka Pagoda towering above, especially enchanting during cherry blossom season or at sunset. Whether shopping for Kyoto crafts, enjoying local delicacies, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, a visit to Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Yasaka Pagoda is a journey into the heart of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.

We had such a great day seeing Kyoto with Taikai. He was very knowledgeable with great English, and very flexible with the itinerary so that we saw everything we wanted to see, with great explanations and background from him. The ease of having the private transportation made it a very comfortable day. Highly recommend this day tour.

Our guide, Ben, was an energetic and enthusiastic young man who arrived to pick us up 15 minutes ahead of our scheduled time. He demonstrated excellent local knowledge, particularly on the history and culture of Japan, and we truly appreciated his insightful on-the-ground sharing at each place of interest. Overall, we had a wonderful and enjoyable day, made even more memorable by his professionalism and passion.

We had a great time with our guide Atsushi-san. He was very kind and considerate. During the temple visits, he explained the history of each place so we could better appreciate what we were seeing. He also took us on a leisurely walk in the beautiful garden of each temple, and gave recommendations on which shop to go to for the items in our shopping list. His driving was very smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Christine was exceptional! She truly managed our group of 13 quite efficiently as she maneuvered 4 of the top sites and experiences in Keyoto. She was knowledgeable and communicated very well. She was fun and truly enjoys her job which makes it relaxing and comfortable. I would highly recommend her especially if you have limited time in Keyoto and want to get a lot done in one day! Thanks again Christine.

We had a wonderful day exploring Kyoto with Yoshi. We were able to see so much in a single day and visit several of the city's most iconic sights. Yoshi was friendly, professional, and made the day easy and enjoyable. Having transportation arranged for us allowed us to make the most of our time, and we definitely would not have been able to cover as much ground on our own. If you're looking for a convenient way to see many of Kyoto's highlights in one day, this tour is a great option.

Thank you Ben (Yujiro) for such a wonderful day out. We travelled in an air conditioned luxury mini-van (like flying first class!) on what was the hottest day of our stay so far and saw all of the main sights but learnt so much more about the history of Kyoto and the significance of the key Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in this beautiful city, as well as a myriad of other interesting information. Lunch was taken at the best local noodle restaurant (locals only), and we stopped for sweets, ice cream and drinks many times! We will be back to do this tour again with the kids!

This was an awesome experience to experience Kyoto curated toward our needs. Very knowledgeable guide, air conditioned private vehicle and at our pace. My wife and I are in our 70s and this was perfect to experience as much of Kyoto as possible.
