Kiyomizu-dera Temple
One of the most iconic features of Kiyomizu-dera is its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, offering panoramic views of the cherry and maple trees below, as well as the city of Kyoto. The stage is supported by hundreds of wooden pillars, constructed without the use of nails—a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The temple complex also includes the Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking. Visitors can try to walk between two stones with their eyes closed—if successful, it is said they will find true love. Kiyomizu-dera is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is especially popular during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. The temple's architecture, natural surroundings, and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination in Japan.
Sannenzaka Ninenzaka
Explore Kyoto’s timeless beauty by strolling through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two historic lanes leading to the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. These stone-paved streets, lined with traditional wooden shops and teahouses, offer a glimpse into Japan's Edo period. Capture the stunning view of the five-story Yasaka Pagoda towering above, especially enchanting during cherry blossom season or at sunset. Whether shopping for Kyoto crafts, enjoying local delicacies, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, a visit to Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Yasaka Pagoda is a journey into the heart of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.

Yujiro (Ben) was an outstanding guide! The private tour is absolutely the way to go—it allows you to see so much with minimal stress, and maximum flexibility and comfort. Yujiro was incredibly knowledgeable and shared insights we never would have gained on our own or in a group setting. He was patient, engaging, and wonderful with our entire family. We would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend this experience.

My grandfather and I did this tour on the last day of our trip in Japan. I am so glad that we made the decision to do it. Somei was a fantastic guide and showed us many sights in Kyoto that we would not have otherwise seen. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and was able to tailor the day to our interests and pace. It was well worth the cost and having private transportation made the day seamless. I highly recommend you book this for your trip to Kyoto!

This tour was more than we could’ve asked for. We all had such a fun time with Christine. She took us some incredible sights and was so informative and actually taught us heaps! Christine was so nice and accomodating to us as we had such a big group 11 people and made sure we were well looked after the whole day. Very Highly Recommended!!

Somei was an exceptional guide. His understanding of English was very clear, and he was incredibly knowledgeable. He was also very accommodating and flexible — nothing was ever too hard for him. The experience felt very personal and thoughtfully tailored to us.

It was a fun time, I left my phone in a bathroom by the bamboo forest and Ben was great, he called the place where I left my phone and they found it and Ben was great by going back to pick up my phone. He gave us lots of information of all the places we went to. The bamboo forest and the Inari gates were my favorites. I would recommend you ask for Ben as your guide, he is great and so knowledgeable and personable.

Ben was our guide for our day tour of Kyoto and it was lovely to travel to the main sights in style. Ben spoke about the rich history of the area all throughout our tour and guided us to the best places for photos. We started at the bamboo forest where we asked whether we could also visit the monkies. We then visited the Golden Pavilion, Kyomizu- dera temple and Fushimi Inari Temple. Ben did an unbelievable job entertaining us for the whole day and took us to his favourite ramen place for lunch. He made my three teenage children feel welcome, remembered our names and took an interest in our lives as well. Ben’s tour has been one of the main highlights of our Japan trip and I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Great communication, friendly and courteous but unusually well informed and interesting/interested. Arrived on time and kept on schedule. Lewis was excellent and his English was better than mine. Perfect day.
