Kiyomizu-dera Temple
One of the most iconic features of Kiyomizu-dera is its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, offering panoramic views of the cherry and maple trees below, as well as the city of Kyoto. The stage is supported by hundreds of wooden pillars, constructed without the use of nails—a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The temple complex also includes the Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking. Visitors can try to walk between two stones with their eyes closed—if successful, it is said they will find true love. Kiyomizu-dera is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is especially popular during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. The temple's architecture, natural surroundings, and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination in Japan.
Sannenzaka Ninenzaka
Explore Kyoto’s timeless beauty by strolling through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two historic lanes leading to the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. These stone-paved streets, lined with traditional wooden shops and teahouses, offer a glimpse into Japan's Edo period. Capture the stunning view of the five-story Yasaka Pagoda towering above, especially enchanting during cherry blossom season or at sunset. Whether shopping for Kyoto crafts, enjoying local delicacies, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, a visit to Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Yasaka Pagoda is a journey into the heart of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.

We had an amazing day in Kyoto thanks to Christine, our tour guide! She was great at communicating with me prior to the trip and was able to accommodate our Kobe port location for pick-up. We were picked up at 8:15am and wanted to be back at the port by 6pm. It was a long drive from Kobe to Kyoto and the van was large and comfortable for our family of 5 (all adults). She kept us on schedule, was very clear on the itinerary and how much time we could spend at each place including time to shop on our own. She got us in and out of crowded areas quickly and efficiently and shared interesting information and tips in each of the places we visited. Golden Palace, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, Fushimi Inari Shrine were all SO worth it and beautiful to see! She also brought us to one of our favorite meals on entire trip because it had the best wagyu steak! Best of all, even tho it was unplanned, she picked up on my wish to do a kimono photo shoot and told me we could make it happen and take pictures at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove with it. She helped pick out the kimonos, hair accessories and even helped with the videos and pictures since I have no sense of posing for these things and did not make me feel uncomfortable at all. She was very pleasant, easy to talk to, AND got us back to the port after 2 hr drive with time to spare. Thank you Christine for a day full of great memories!

Delightful, immersive experience covering the culture, history and sights of Kyoto. Picturesque and colorful views, taste of some local food and visiting key attractions in the city were the highlight of the tour. Our day started with Benji - our enthusiastic and friendly tour guide picking us up in the morning in his spacious, clean and cool minivan. We visited shrines, temples, had lunch at a local vegan restaurant given our meal preferences, had time to do some shopping and took a lot of pictures! to create lasting memories. Overall highly recommend this tour and we look forward to doing another for other sights when we visit kyoto next. Thank you

We enjoyed the whole experience, Lewis our guide for the day was knowledgeable, he explained everything. We couldn't have done it ourselves as the places were far apart. Glad we just relaxed back.

It was a magical tour. Of course because of the beauty of the places in Kyoto, but above all thanks to Nozo, my tour guide. He speaks a perfect english, and so he has very well explained all the places that we visited, and also answered to all my questions about Japanese culture! He is very gentle and professional! We stopped to have lunch in a tipical sushi restaurant and it was amazing! When you have such a short time, I more than recommend this tour and Nozo as a tour guide! I fell in love with Kyoto!

Christine was excellent. She helped customize a tour that would cover all iconic Kyoto sights, had incredible knowledge of all sites, was well prepared, had the time very well calculated, was very flexible with us, and had excellent suggestions re dining locations. Helped us with our own shore excursion. Picked us up and dropped us off at port. Also arranged for driver and luxury van so she was really guiding us while someone else was driving. She has great English language and great command of the culture and the sights. We loved her. We highly recommend her.
