Rich gave us a great insight into the Franconian beer culture and we were also active in sports at the same time. A great Saturday and highly recommended.

Going on a beer hike with Rich was definitely one a highlight of our German holiday! He organize our trek along the Fünf Seidla Steig. All we had to do was show up at the Nuremberg train station ready to hike and drink some beer! If you're in the area and love beer, consider going on a Beerwander tour. We lucked out and had amazing weather. It was an amazing experience being able to hike through the Franconia countryside stopping at some off the beaten path breweries to "hydrate". The hiking makes room for more beer. Trying new beers is motivation for more hiking. It's a nice pairing. Rich was an amazing guide and delightful companion for the day. We learned all about the history of the breweries we visited and general German beer culture. Besides our hike, Rich's website is filled with some gems of recommendations in the area. He provides great beer tips across all of Bavaria (where to go and what to try).

I can't recommend this tour enough! We had an amazing day out with friends exploring the Franconia countryside led by Rich. The hike is suitable for mixed levels (I'm not a hiker!) and expertly guided by Rich. He gave us lots of info on the history of the area but most importantly the beer and food! All his recommendations were spot on. It's a unique experience as you won't find these beers all over Germany and the views are just stunning. It's invaluable to have Rich to give you all the local knowledge of the area that you'd otherwise never know. It made the day for us and we all plan to do it again soon with Rich

Rich is a legend. The Fünf-Seidla-Steig with Beerwanderers is an outstanding way to experience Germany outside of the main cities. Not only does Rich guide you as you hike from brewery to brewery through the beautiful Franconian countryside, he also takes time to inform you about the area, the trail, the food and most importantly the breweries and beer! Rich has been exploring Franconia for years and knows the public transportation system well, which comes in handy after a day of hiking, eating and sampling local beers. It put me at ease knowing that Rich was keeping my group on schedule to catch our train home. I highly recommend Beerwanderers with Rich!

We had a great time. As a mixed ability group, Rich was bale to cater to the needs of all member of the group. Food and beer recommendations were also on point. We had a slight hiccup as one of the five brewery was on holidays. Rich handled it very well and led us to another biergarten he knew, which ended up being one of our favourites! Thank again Rich, we'll be back!

What a great day! I'll absolutely never forget this amazing experience! We hiked from one amazing brewery to the next for a total of 5 awesome breweries. The guide was well worth it! Not only was he full of interesting historical facts and tidbits he knows which beers and regional dishes to try at each location. Without him I would've definitely got lost and/or lost track of time and missed my train back that evening. I haven't had that much fun in years!

I am so glad we hired Rich to lead us on our beer hike. While the route we did (Fünf-Seidla-Steig) is well documented, it was great to have someone who knew the transportation and route well so we could just enjoy ourselves and didn't have to get bogged down in the details of how to get around. Rich was organized and made our day go perfectly. He told us what all the beer options would be like at each stop and was a fun companion for the day. Trying to actually do this hike was a several year venture, as our plans for a trip to Germany in 2020 went up in Covid flames. Rich was incredibly communicative as we made our original plans, tried to reschedule, and ended up having to cancel. He continued to communicate in the intervening years and, once we finally rescheduled the original trip for 2023, even continued to share his favorite beer tips for the other locations on our itinerary. Thank you Beerwanders!

Four of us met up with Rich at Nürnberg Central Station for an absolutely fabulous day out: I strongly recommend people to look him up if they are in the area! Rich is very personable, interesting and a friendly fella with a wealth of knowledge about beers of the region. We did around 13km (8 miles) on a beautiful day, with 5 stops at various breweries. The walking is not hard or technical, for the most part following footpaths through lovely scenic countryside. The beers were all very enjoyable, as was our lunch at one of the early stops. For us, this was towards the end of a 2-month Interrail extravaganza, from Leicester to Ljubljana, Berlin to the Black Sea, Valencia to Vienna.....and I have to say our day out was one of the highlights of our trip - THANKS!

Had a great time on the Funf Seidla tour with Rich. He is very knowledgeable of the area and provides an easy route to all 5 breweries. Rich was a great addition to our group. If you are considering this hike, I would highly recommend going with Rich to enhance the experience and make sure that you reach all destinations.
