This walking tour was exceptional, thanks to our guide, Johnny. Despite there being only three of us—and although he clearly had a cold (which he never mentioned)—he went well above and beyond his duty. We were thoroughly spoilt for the full three hours. Warm and engaging, he shared a remarkable amount of information in such a skilful way that it was easy to take in. His love for Glasgow shone through throughout his delivery, and his knowledge of the city’s history and culture was truly impressive. On the rare occasions he didn’t know an answer, he admitted it openly, which only added to his credibility. After the tour, he sent us a personalised email with recommendations for places to visit, as well as food and drink.

Johnny was fantastic! He was helpful right from the start by introducing himself the day before and offering assistance with any questions we may have. He is very passionate about his city and it clearly shows. We had the opportunity to see parts of Glasgow that we would not have seen on our own. I fully recommend Johnny.

Couldn’t rate it higher. Johnny is such an enthusiastic and knowledgable guide. I am from Glasgow but came away with tons of insight into my own city. I have enjoyed so many walking tours abroad, and am very glad that the best one is in my own Glasgow!

This was my first visit to Glasgow and I was traveling on my own. Upon meeting Johnny, I instantly felt safe and comfortable. He is a wealth of knowledge and his passion for Glasgow is unmatched! Between the architecture, learning the geography of the city, and his recommendations, I absolutely cannot wait to visit again. Book this tour if you are visiting the wonderful city of Glasgow!

Superb morning of insights into a city I thought I knew. Glasgow’s medieval, Georgian, Victorian and modern heritage, warts and all, brought to life.

My wife booked this tour as something a little different and a way to discover more of a city that we love. Johnny was our guide and what a superbly knowledgeable and amiable guy he is! The tour took in a large chunk of the east end of Glasgow and the three hours flew by with so much information about the architecture and traditions of the city. We loved it, were informed and entertained and we now have an almost endless supply of places to visit and experience when we return thanks to Johnny's detailed email of establishments to see and visit sent after the tour. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone!

Whenever I visit a new city, I always try to get in a walking tour on my first day to get my bearings. This time was no exception, and this Gander walking tour was a fantastic way to introduce myself to Glasgow. Our tour guide Johnny, was amazing, possessing a wealth of knowledge of the city, and he was a master storyteller. We even popped into The Steps, a truly traditional pub (leave your trendiness at the door when you walk in), where we sampled, of all things, Irn-Bru, to quench our thirsts. We saw some amazing wall art and heard the stories that provided their inspiration. And as we finished at the stunning and imposing Glasgow Cathedral, Johnny provided each of us with personalized recommendations on things to see (the photo exhibit at Glasgow Museum of Modern Art is a must-see), and places to eat and drink. It was a perfect way to end a leisurely three-hour walking tour. Thank you, Johnny, for introducing me to your Glasgow.

Had a truly excellent tour of Glasgow with Johnny. This guy seriously knows the city - what a font of knowledge! I keep remembering interesting things he told us, it really made me want to learn even more about this fascinating place. Although it was a decent time to be walking around, the pace was perfect. Johnny was also brilliant at recommending other things to do and see on the rest of our trip, and sent a really helpful list of recommends to follow up. We wanted restaurant recommends for vegetarians, and he helped us find a great place. Don't hesitate, if you're visiting Glasgow, book this walking tour!!
