R 62 nel Klein Karoo
We depart Cape Town at 8am travelling on the N1 until we join the R62 Wine Route to Oudtshoorn. Traveling from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn along the R62 Wine Route offers a scenic journey through the heart of South Africa's countryside. As you leave the vibrant city, the landscape gradually transforms into rolling vineyards and rugged mountain ranges. The R62, often dubbed the world's longest wine route, takes you through charming towns like Montagu and Calitzdorp, where you can sample local wines and enjoy the warm hospitality. The road is dotted with quirky farm stalls, stunning viewpoints, and opportunities for outdoor adventures, making the drive as enjoyable as the destination itself. Upon reaching Oudtshoorn, the gateway to the Klein Karoo, you'll be greeted by the town's famous ostrich farms and the majestic Cango Caves.

From Botlierskop Game Reserve we take a brief lunch break. Thereafter we proceed to Robberg Nature Reserve for hiking. The reserve's well-marked trails lead you through a diverse landscape of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and lush fynbos, all with panoramic views of the ocean. From Benguela Cove Wine Estate we proceed to Betty's Bay to see African Penguins.
