An experience that combines adventure, challenge and reward.

It is one of the most challenging trails in the city, perfect for those who like to overcome obstacles and enjoy nature, but requires physical preparation.

At an altitude of 844 meters, the Pedra da Gávea is the world’s largest seaside monolith and offers one of the most spectacular views of the city: Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Bread, Lagoa, Zona Sul, Barra da Tijuca and the entire coastline of Carioca, all in one place!

The route: The track has about 2.5 km of climb (summate, are approximately 5 km) and takes an average of 3 to 4 hours to complete, depending on the group's pace.

During the course, we will travel through stretches in the middle of the Atlantic Forest, intense climbs, roots, stones and the famous challenge of the Carrasqueira, a short stretch of climbing where you have to use your hands.

But don’t worry: with the guidance of our expert guide and safety equipment, you will climb with confidence and tranquility!

What To Expect

Meet your group and our guide at Point da Meire at 7:40 am, where all instructions will be given and safety equipment distributed. The activity starts promptly at 8 am.

Trilha da Pedra da Gavea

Challenge yourself on the Pedra da Gávea trail! At 844 meters above sea level, this is one of the most famous and challenging trails in Rio. It's about a 3-4 hour hike, passing through the Atlantic forest, steep climbs and the Carrasqueira section, where you'll need to wear safety equipment (provided by us). The reward? A 360° view of the city, including the Christ statue, the Lagoon, the South Zone and the Rio coastline! Incredible Walk in the Gávea Stone! We loved this trail with Larissa and Edu! From the first contact, we were very well served by this incredible couple, who showed themselves from the beginning attentive and available to remove all our doubts. The script was prepared with great care, as it is a trail that challenges us, but they prepare everything to make us confident, we were surprised by the stunning landscapes. A special thanks to the guides, who made the tour even more special with their much humor and total knowledge of the region. I recommend closed eyes!
