Chonjinboldog area where Chinggis Khan Monument is located within an hour. You will see true nomadic lifestyle as soon as you travel outside of the city of Ulaanbaatar. Chinggis Khan Monument is an extremely tall stainless steel statue of Ghengiis Khaan approximately 1 hour drive away from Ulaanbaatar. You may take an elevator ride up to the horse neck with spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. There is also a small archaeology museum in the base of the statue as well as a decent restaurant along with ubiquitous souvenir shops. You may try on traditional Mongolian costumes at the museum.
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park has many excellent rock formations for rock including two famous formations named for things they resemble: "Turtle Rock" or "Melkhii Khad" in Mongolian and "the Old Man Reading a Book" or "Praying Lama Rock." I have to say that Bachi is the best tour guide I have ever had. He is always asking for feedback, he’s very knowledgeable and he adapts the trip to fit his guests likes and dislikes. I really enjoyed getting to know him better. The Chicago accent really threw me for a loop in Mongolia but he’s an absolute gem! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

The tour was a nice visit of Genghis Khan statue with the museum and temple in Terelj National Park. The guide has been very kind and responsive (in the context of a late reservation the day before) and gave a lot of information about the tour and mongolian culture.

This is an excellent tour for anyone like me with only a day to spare to see some of Mongolia's amazing sights. A bit of history, the chance to see some amazing landscapes, and a visit to a monastery. It's only ever going to be a taster on a 1 day trip, but this is a good one.

Booking the tour was easy and hassle free, I was picked up from my hotel in Ulaanbaatar at 08:00 by Nara and her driver. On our way to the Terelj National Park we stopped at various souvenir shops. Nara asked if I have tried Airag(fermented mare's milk) before, I hadn't. We stopped at a few vendors on the way but I was assured that the Airag they served weren't the best I took their word for it. We continued to the Ariyabal Meditation Temple, all I can say is WOW! the temple was amazing and served as a great source of exercise walking up the hill with loads of stairs. The view from the top was breathtaking, especially with the autumn foliage on display. For lunch we stopped at one of the many local Ger restaurants that lined one section of the road, I ordered my favorite dumpling and mutton soup as well as Khuushuur, a deep fried dumpling filled with meat and milk tea, this was a nice change from eating in hotels and restaurants. After lunch we continued the journey to The Chinggis Khan Complex, and if you think that the photos you have seen will prepare you for what you are about to see when you arrive at the statue you will be surprised, the statue of Chinggis Khan is huge and quite impressive. There is also hunting eagles you can pose with and you can try your hand at the Mongolian Archery. It was time to make our way back to Ulaanbaatar and on the way the driver spotted a large horse farm and local Ger settlement and decided to stop to see if they have Airag, the lady said that they did and invited us into their Ger for Airag and local cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised that the Airag was not as big a shock to my pallet as I expected and end up drinking a few bowls and eating local bread with sweetened cream, the hospitality of the family can not be described in words. This was a great way to end the tour, in all I can't thank my tour guide Nara and the driver Batdelger for a great day and well presented tour.

The trip stated with a visit to the Genghis Khan Statue and then proceeded to the National Park, a most breathtaking place. We enjoyed lunch in the ger, Turtle Rock and the absolute beauty of the Park itself. Jack, our guide, was the best.

Completely Awesome! The guide was on time and spoke excellent English. The Chinggas Khan statute is very impressive and very worth seeing. We then drove to Terelj National Park which is amazingly beautiful. The guide stopped for us to see camels and yaks and gave us plenty of time to explore. I highly recommend this trip!

I had a lovely day out with Bat. As it happened there was nobody else on the tour so I had the tour to myself! Didn't feel rushed in any way at all, Bat was ready and willing to stop whenever we saw anything unexpected of interest such as a field of yaks. He was very knowledgeable.
The evening 'visit a nomad family to experience Mongolian life stye and hospitality before returning to Ulaanbaatar.' didn't materialise, not sure why, but it had still been a really good day.
