Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is short and easy trekking in the Annapurna region. This trek is recommended for the beginners, family and elderly. Famously known the Poon hill tour offers to unblock sunrise and stunning mountain views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges so it is also known as Poon hill trek. This trekking route has most of the visitors among the other trekking routes of Nepal. There are a couple of hundred trekkers every day on Ghorepani Poon hill trek. This is a circuit trek that starts from Nayapul and ends at the same place after making a circuit via Ghandruk village. Trekking through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest, this trek offers a magnificent view of landscapes, traditional villages, culture, wildlife and much more. Besides these natural and cultural beauties, towering mountains such as Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m) and more with the most beautiful mountain Fishtail (6,997m) can be seen along the trek.

What To Expect
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

Today, we drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara early morning on a tourist bus. The bus leaves at 7:00 am from Sorhakhutte (close to Thamel) and then drives through the hillside road which is around 200km. You see beautiful valleys, farming fields, local settlements, rivers, vegetation, waterfalls, and much more attractions. The bus takes several breaks for breakfast and lunch on the way to Pokhara. Once you reach this beautiful lake city Pokhara, you check in at the hotel and then we can walk around the lakeside to see the beautiful Fewa lake.
Drive to Birethanti in private transport (1 hour and a half) and trek to Ulleri (2055m)

Today, we start our mountain journey with a few hour's drive in private transport to Nayapul from Pokhara after breakfast. After driving around an hour and a half, we reach Birethanti and then start walking toward the Bhurungdi river valley. We see traditional villages, green hills, local lifestyles, farming lands, waterfalls, and more attractions along the way. After walking for around 4 hrs, we stop for lunch in Tikhedhunga and then trek for 2 more hours on ascending part to Ulleri.

After breakfast at the lodge, we start walking on a gradually ascending trail in the morning. We walk around an hour and a half from Ulleri to Banthanti and then enter the forests. We see oak, pine, rhododendron, and lots of other trees in this forest, so the forest looks amazing in spring when the rhododendron blooms. We stop for lunch in Nangethanti today and then trek another hour to Ghorepani.
Hike to Poon hill (3210m) 1 hrs, and trek to Tadapani (2630m)

We hike early morning with a flashlight from the lodge to see unblocking sunrise and magnificent mountain views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. It takes around an hour to hike Poon hill and hike back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we trek the opposite side of Poon hill on ascending trail at the beginning and then descend for a few hours to Banthanti. We walk another hour to Tadapani after having lunch in Banthanti today.
Trek from Tadapani to Kliu and drive to Pokhara

We see the beautiful sunrise with mountains like Annapurna south, Himchuli, Fishtail, Annapurna III, II, and other high peaks from Tadapani early morning, and have breakfast. After breakfast, we trek through deep forests on descending trail for 3 hrs to Ghandruk. We stop for lunch in Ghandruk and then trek another two hours on descending trail again to Kliu. Here, our private transportation will be waiting for us to take to Pokhara. We drive about 2 hrs from Kliu to Pokhara today at the end of our trip.

5.00My partner and I spent 4 days trekking to Poon Hill with our guide Rajesh. He was a nice man who was extremely helpful and informative. He has everything organised for us on arrival. He was easy to deal with and I would highly recommend Rajesh and his company. We spent three nights in total. One in Ulleri, Ghorepani and Ghandruk Village. The views were amazing particularly in Ghorepani. It was a great four days and I would recommend the experience.

5.00I would say that the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek was 'once in a lifetime' but I am planning the Annapurna Base Camp Trek next! I am definitely returning to the Himalayan Mountains! Rajesh was fantastic, from the first time I emailed him inquiring about the Trek (recommended from a colleague) to my departure from Nepal. Rajesh communicated with me quickly and any questions I had were answered right away. He met me at the Kathmandu airport and showed me the hotel and had a suggestion of a restaurant for dinner. The Kathmandu Tour the following morning was full of Unesco Heritage sites with temples, palaces, squares, stupas and history. Rajesh was a wealth of knowledge and he was happy to further explain with any questions I had asked! I also enjoyed staying in Pokhara the next evening, seeing a range of mountains from the Lake as well! I was in awe of this beautiful country as we trekked to Ghorepani. Rajesh allowed me to set the pace and was happy to give me breaks as much as necessary. Breathtaking is how I felt every time I glanced upward. View after view after view, lovely Nepali people, and lunch through the different villages made the trek very enjoyable as well! Sunrises, and sunsets were just amazing! Rajesh did a great job in choosing the accommodations and the views from my rooms were stunning! Rajesh was also very patient with me asking him the names of the different mountains, over and over again! So many beautiful mountains during this trek, with so many different views depending where on the trek you were! As we arrived to Kathmandu earlier than expected, we planned a visit to Bhaktapur, the first capital of Nepal, with four different squares and lots of people and markets to enjoy as well! I certainly enjoyed the cultural evening Rajesh had organized at a restaurant close to the hotel. There was cultural dancing with music, as well as a Nepali lovely dinner! It was a great way to finish off the tour! I would definitely recommend Frolic Adventure! Thanks again Rajesh!

5.00Having inquiry with multiple tour agencies Rajesh the owner of Frolic Adventure was the first one to respond quickly so with the review and response I immediately decide to go with this company and was very easy to communicate with him. Once I arrived I had a further trip meeting with him in the office. The next day I was given a Kathmandu city tour with walking encyclopedia guide Raju. Aaahhh he is such a pleasant guide to hang around with abundant knowledge about history culture geography about his nation. He even did took a fabulous picture for my future references. Do askfor Raju if you are planning to go for city. The next day I wentfor ghorepani poon hill trek was given a guide Narayan such an highly well experiened to ghorepaani. He is very popular in that region, I mean every single knows him. The trek itself is so breath taking that I fell coming again and again Nepal. The service provided is very worthy. Its so please to see eight thousander massive mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri .its breath taking. All in all the service provided is worthwhile. So if you are planning visiting Nepal do go with Frolic Adventure and Rajesh.

Especially Frolic adventure management All the programs for short 5 day trekking. We enjoyed our first trip to Nepal and definitely I will join it in future for my next trip. 5.00I did short trek in Nepal with frolic adventure. My friend recommended poon hill trek and trekking agency frolic adventure. I had just 4-5 days time in Nepal and Rajesh made the trek itinerary according my time frame. It was just 3 days trek. guide Saroj was very knowledgeable and helpful and porter suman was very strong and happy man. They made my short poon hill trek wonderful. Thanks for well organized my trip.
